It’s the buildup. Adrenaline and cortisol and a burst of overjoyed serotonin. The crash that comes with relief. The cocktail of emotions that has been ready to erupt for too long. Dwindling hope rekindled in an instant, channeled into a new fire. All of that rage, all of that grief, all of that worry, fear, horror, relief — it’s got to go somewhere.
