I NEEDED TO DRAW IVY OK? 💔
SHE'S SO PRETTY
Hello there!
I am currently writing a Lackadaisy fanfiction on ao3, and I was wondering if the band members would know Rocky last name or not. Would they even know Rocky isn't his real name?
They likely suspect Rocky is a moniker of sorts, but probably none of them know his name is actually Roark. Rocky doesn't tend to introduce himself that way. None of the band members go by their exact given names either, anyway, and none of them are that concerned with the formal name behind the chosen one. The name each identifies with is the more pertinent one.
If any of them half-remembers Rocky's last name, it's probably Zib, who might be able to snap his fingers to conjure it with some concerted effort...Rickety? Rigby? Rigglesby? Rickaby.
Question for Miss Tracy: Who was the first lackadaisy character you designed?
Rocky and Mitzi were characters I drew as a kid way back in grade school based on the family cats. So, technically those two, although the concept of Lackadaisy didn't exist at the time, and they now look much different.
I remember Mitzi saying that she had to sell "the big house" in the comic, as well as her reminiscing the past quite a lot. will we get to see a few flashbacks of her life before atlas' death?
There is a lot of flashing back in Season 1, yeah.
Can Atlas sing just as well as mitzy?
No.
Hey, Tracy. I was just curious about something. When drawing for the comic, I realized that some of the background art--especially as detailed as you tend to make it--looks like it takes possibly even more work and time to draw than anything else on the page, but I also recognize that that difficulty probably varies based on the actual background itself and how much demand for detail there is per scene. So I was wondering, how would you rank order the different types of environments from most to least in terms of how much time and effort it takes to finish them. And also how much aderrall do you take when doing so (i'm kidding, sorry)
Yeah, sometimes the background is more intensive than the characters. Anything with a lot of hard-edged geometry - architecture, industrial elements, vehicles - tends to take the longest. Keeping everything in perspective and rendering things like masonry details on top of that eats up a lot of time. Populating interiors with enough detail to satisfy my desire to make it feel authentically lived-in is also a lot of work. Often it takes some historical reference gathering too. More naturalistic backgrounds like forests and prairies go much faster.
No Adderall involved, though I know that makes a world of difference for some. Just a lot of caffeine and video essays, podcasts, or music for background noise in the blessed wee hours, free of distraction.

based on an (apparently) true story
went to a lackadaisy QNA today where the cast and creative team shared a story about Michael accidentally kicking in the dry wall, then saying he could fix it. Said it’d be cool to have fanart of Rocky saying “I CAN FIX IT :D” bc it’s in character.
so uhhhhhhhhh yeah here ya go. @kovox
Hope u like it @lackadaisycats
Haha - this is great! It is a true story. A bunch of the Lackadaisy crew was a voice chat when it happened. Michael was attempting some kind of fancy footwork, kicked a hole in the wall, then scrambled to find a solution. (This was a photo of said hole that I drew on top of, just quoting what he said in the aftermath)

I finally caught up with the lackadaisy comic recently and I had to come back to this request and draw this guy. I love the little wrinkle he does with his snout
Hey, a bunch of the Lackadaisy gang will be at MomoCon in Atlanta this coming weekend, May 21st-24th! (I will be there from Friday through Sunday). If you happy to be there too, come by and say hello!
