In celebration of 100 years of Roald Dahl, we made this little animation as a thank you and appreciation for his wonderful stories and the iconic designs by Quentin Blake that we've grown up to be inspired by and adored.

An Animated Explainer Video we made for a HR company. The video follows Mr Smith, a restaurant owner who has difficulty keeping up with the admin and management of his staff. Made entirely inside After Effects.

Not only was this clip part of a wider narrative, it was also an experiment to create a believable underwater scene using varying colour and light filters within AfterEffects. Most notably are the rays of light coming from the surface at the top

Note: This clip has been sped up to be used here, which is why the wavy effect feels too strong. When played at normal speed, the effect is much more subtle.

Today I recreated a scene in Cinema 4D (top) of an animation I had previously built in After Effects (bottom). Really pleased with the results, especially with the use of lighting to bring it to life
