The Pareng Nardo of My Life I asked Dad who was his most reliable, trustworthy, and loyal friend… He said it would be Pareng Nardo. Dad said Pareng Nardo was the kind of friend whom he could call in the wee hours of the night, just to help him get rid of the corpse. It was a very eerie and weird way of describing a friend, but come to think of this: Dad used the hyperbole and metaphor to express the level of loyalty and the deepness of their friendship. It must be an honor for both of them to be there for each other during their lowest, darkest, and most woeful time. IVY is the Pareng Nardo of my life.
