For the last few days, all Heeseung has been doing was playing his game. Since he had a bit of off time from schedules, he felt as if he needed to catch up on gaming with his friends. Though the last few weeks, you and him haven't been able to spend much time together, and you thought it would be the perfect time to spend quality time, but every time you'd come over, he'd be on the game. It was fine with you for the first three days, but when it got to be the fourth and he had yet to even say two words to you. You started to get a bit agitated. Testing the waters, you approached from behind the gaming chair, your chin resting on his head. "Babe, you're distracting me" he murmured and shooed you away, yelling a curse at the game.
You sighed, but didn't move, your hands snaking to his chest, gently squeezing the area. You didn't think you were being too needy, and your friends agreed when you mentioned it. Heeseung tensed and let out a slight sigh. "Y/n, I told you, you're distracting me. Let me finish this round and I'll get off." Groaning, you sat on the edge of the bed, sighing snd rubbing your face. You were heated, how hard was it to get attention from your boyfriend. Your feelings were hurt too, why couldn't he just put the game aside for a couple of hours. In one last desperate attempt you moved around to the side of the chair, squeezing onto his lap, causing a few curses from inside the headphones, you assumed were his friends. "Agh- goddammit Y/N, I told you to get back. Why do you have to be so damn clingy and annoying." His body moving to where you were slightly lifted off his lap.
Now you weren't so much of a sensitive person, but those words stung. All you wanted was a bit of attention from your boyfriend. Your love, someone you hadn't really seen in a few weeks, and all you wanted was a few minutes of his time. You stood by the chair, your heart racing. Cheeks flushed and honestly pissed, but you couldn't help the tears that were about to escape your eyes. It hurt, you were hurt.
He noticed the switch of tension in the room and before he looked over, you were gone. He sighed lightly. "I'm getting off." he told his friends and quickly discarded the headphones onto the desk as he shuffled to find you after turning off the game. He found you in the living room, sitting on the couch, hugging a pillow. "Baby?" he said softly. You didn't answer, nor did you bat an eye. "Baby." he said a little louder.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it. It was just in the heat of the moment." He started as he made his way over to you, bending down on his knees, in front of you, moving the pillow, his larger hands pressed against your thighs as he rubbed them. "Forgive me, I love your clinginess, you know that." You didn't say anything, your hands laying awkwardly on the couch beside you.
A sucker for physical touch, a small sniffle sound escaped as you looked in his eyes, seeing that he was genuine. But you didn't say anything, wanting him to continue.
And he did. "Im sorry for not paying attention to you." He stated, his hands rubbing the skin under your shirt. "Please forgive me, yeah?" "Promise I got your attention from now on." you spoke quietly, your eyes looking into his. Heeseung smiled, gently lifting you in his arms and turning to sit on the couch, his arms around your waist. "You always do baby, this week I've just been too stupid to show it."
"Yeah." you stated agreeing and he laughed.
Getting ready for events were always special and very important to Jay and he felt you didn't understand it. Tension would always build up around this time if he didn’t think he looked decadent enough to go out in public being watched by the public eye. Like the encouraging girlfriend you were. You spoke - "I think you look good." you said, your hand gently coming to brush his shoulder. His jaw was tensed, as if it could cut through rocks. "I look stupid. Damn." He murmured under his breath. You just didn't understand. To you Jay was always handsome. He always dressed well and smelt good. Why was he stressing so much? "Babe, calm down. It's going to be alright, you always can pick something else out" you spoke trying to calm his tension but his sharp eyes cut to you. His jaw clenched.
"You dont understand, I dont have time to fiddle around in the closet like you do. If you just ordered the suit like I asked, we wouldn't be having this problem, you dont listen. You're so damn hardheaded." The words flew out faster than he intended. His eyes widened as if he couldn't believe the words that just came out of his mouth.
Your heart clenched, you weren't ready for those words. You were too stunned to speak, to even say anything. And that left the tension high in the air. You stepped back and turned away. "Y/n, I didn't-" he started but you didn't give him a chance to finish. You needed air, you needed space.
Jay’s eyes softened as he ran a hand through his hair, sighing. Following you into the other room. “Princess.” He whispered, back hugging you, his waist pressed against yours, his arms around your waist. “I’m sorry..” he murmured immediately. “I take full responsibility for I don’t mean it. Ever.” His lips pressed against your temple and you hate how quickly you melted in his touch. It wasn’t fair.
“You know you can always talk to me right?” You whispered, he nodded. Of course he did. He was just stressed. With this event and work, he couldn’t release any tension at the moment. “But it doesn’t make up for what I said.” He murmured agains your hair, carefully spinning you around.
“Look at me princess.” He said before spending you around. One hand on your waist, the other on your cheek, caressing the skin there gently. “Forgive me?” You nodded. “I forgive you, but don’t call me that again” you said, your eyebrows furrowed as you gently hit his chest.
The male feigned an ache as you just shook your head. “You’re a nerd.” You spoke. He hummed. “I can deal with that.”
You and Jake were watching tv, some movie he put on, though you weren’t too focused on the movie. Jake had recently gotten a new haircut, a fluffy chestnut brown, for a new comeback. Fluffy and curled. And god you could swear it was too hot. Or at least you were. You shifted multiple times but that didn’t seem to get his attention, not as if you were trying but you definitely were.
“Babe, stop moving.” He whispered, eyes glued to the tv, handing the bucket of popcorn. You nodded, but your attention didn’t shift. You didn’t know what was in the air but it was causing some problems for you squeezing your legs together. You shifted, taking his hand and placing it on your thigh hoping he’d catch the hint. But he was too invested in the movie. “Fuck..” you whispered quietly, deciding to take it in your own hands. You moved to sit on his lap, hands in his hair as you slid your lap against his. He looked at you. “What are you doing?” He asks, a slight look of annoyance on his face. He hated being interrupted. “Jake..” you whined quietly.
He scoffed. “God, are you always so desperate.” He murmured, his hands unconsciously on your waist. You tensed.
You looked at him with a slightly shocked expression. Then a frown hit your face, and you slid off his lap.
You didn’t need him. Nothing a man can do that batteries can’t hm?
You immediately crawled off his lap, hands in your lap as you created distance on the couch. Embarrassed by him, and the fact that even what he just said. The feeling didn’t go away, you needed him, but you weren’t going to say anything.
Jake frowned. “I’m sorry, I just am really engrossed in the movie.” He said as an excuse. You didn’t answer, your feelings to hurt from his words. Normally you wouldn’t get hurt by them, but tonight felt different. You just wanted him and he didn’t want you, did he find you unattractive. Your mind started spiraling.
You quietly got up and made your way to the bedroom, the slight slam of the door. You weren’t even in the mood anymore. Not even wanting to be near him, laying in the bed you stared at the wall, an ache in your heart. Is that how he saw you? You don’t even remember when you fell asleep. Around 2:30am, you woke up to a pair of arms wrapping around you. “I’m sorry babe.” He whispered, leaning into your ear as he pressed a soft kiss under on the skin. You blinked. He continued.
“I didnt mean to make you feel like a desperate woman. If anything. I’m a desperate man for you.” He squeezed your side. “Forgive me?” He asked but you didn’t say anything. His body shifted behind you, pressing himself closer “forgive me?” He asked his lips pressing a few kisses along your neck. You hated how this worked. How he had this affect on you.
“Look who’s desperate now..” you whispered, voice a bit raspy from sleep.
He chuckled, shaking his head, leaning into to whisper into your ear.
It was a cold evening in the middle of December, Sunghoon’s birthday was coming up and you decided to take him to do ice skating again. One of his first loves and one he had to give up in due to becoming an idol. So you thought this would be the perfect time to present him with it.
What you didn’t take in fact, was how good he was and how terrible you were. Like it was horrendous but you tried with his guidance. His hands in your hips, your arms spread, feet apart and even waddling like a baby penguin to try to get your speed up. You were honestly having fun. But Sunghoon?
He was getting annoyed, and granted he should’ve taken in the fact that you were new to this and you were both just having fun. But with every stumble, laugh, run into him. His patience was wearing thinner and thinner.
You came to a stop, your arms holding onto the rail. “I think I could totally be in a real competition” you said with a happy beat to your face. “Pfft, you wish.” He responded, skating around you. “I could totally beat you!” You mocked and dared to challenge. He stopped.
The atmosphere shifted. “You can’t.” He said simply, jaw tensed.
“I totally could whoop you! You stand no chance!”
He scoffed and shook his head. “You wish. You’re not even good at half of the things you do.”
You stopped, the smile lifting off your face. Some people would say it wouldn’t be that serious. But the words hurt. Growing up as a kid, you didn’t have a good relationship with your parents and it brought back a few memories that weren’t pleasant. And he knew that. So ‘why’ would he even say those words. Your body tensed and your face ran cold, and your feet were leading you to the benches as you took a seat. Tears brimming your eyes.
Sunghoon noticed the way you walked away, he stopped in his tracks, his hands clenched by his side. His jaw unclenched. His eyes softening. “Shit..” he muttered as he made his way to you.”
“Hon.” He said quietly but you didn’t say anything, your thumbs fiddling together. “Hon I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it. That was very asshole of me” he continued. You looked up at him, your cheeks wet and his shoulders softened as he approached you. “C’mon don’t cry hon. I don’t mean it. I should’ve been careful with my words.” He spoke. You nodded. He wiped your cheek an gently took your hands, balancing you up.
“I was just joking,” you said softly. “I don’t know it would be serious.” You murmured. “It wasn’t.” He spoke. “I was being a dick. Forgive me Hon.”
You hummed lightly, shaking your head softly. A slight smile crossing your face, just small enough for him to notice. “No.” You spoke, simply.
He laughed and shook his head. “No?”
And with that, he spun you to your feet, your arms wrapped around his neck. Your nose pressed against his. “I love you.” He spoke quietly.
“I love you, mean green giant.” And he laughed.
Dancing has always been your life for as long as you can remember. Ball room dancing, ballet, street dancing, random dances with your parents in the living room, and competitive dancing in your university that you attend. Class was hard, the dances were even harder. And the competition?
That was the hardest. Students from around the globe. The best dance instructors and tireless days of dancing and exercises on top of classes. But you were in the top 2%. Dancing just came natural for you. That was until Jungwon entered your life. Like a bubbly storm. Bright smile, fluffy hair, perfect face. But dancing won? That was a different story. No one had perfect body control like him, nothing compared. But to you. You came close.
When you got to know him. He was amazing. Always a gentleman, making you laugh and smile. Making sure you ate and even walking you home after class. And then the two of your started dating and you could swear that this was the best time of your life. A boyfriend that cared about you and enjoyed the same passion; what could go wrong?
You were at home, in the living room, dancing around with Won, laughing, telling jokes, sweating. It was amazing. You enjoyed it. Until you both started getting a little competitive. You wouldn’t even deny having that feeling in your gut.
“You’re doing it wrong.” He stated plainly, copying the moves you did, the natural body rolls coming. “I literally did that?!” You defended. Copying the exact movements. “I swear you just like to pick.”
He scoffed. “I’m trying to help you. And then maybe one day you’ll actually be better than me at dancing.” He said. His eyebrows furrowed, chest heaving in and out.
Your eyes widened. You knew you were good. Better than most even. But hearing that you weren’t from him, or even that he thought you weren’t at least, on his level sent you over the edge just a bit. “You serious?” Your brows furrowed, the music faded into the background. You both not listening and more focused on what was happening. The energy charged but not in a good way.
“Yeah.” He challenged. “You aren’t really that good because you don’t want to take any constructive criticism.” And there it was again. Him undermining you and your talent.
You stormed out of the living room, not even wanting to hear whatever else he had to say. You had the last word.
Jungwon sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Before he could follow, you shut the door and locked it, not wanting to be bothered. And when this happened, he knew you needed to calm down - if not. Nothing was going to get solved. At least not now.
Jungwon sat on the couch, hands running through his hair as he attempted to catch his breath.
You sat in the bed, upset, jaw tensed.
After a while you came out of the room, your footsteps quiet as you were met by Jungwon in the dimly lit hallway.
“Baby.” He murmured quietly and you crossed your eyes.
“Hm?” You barely responded.
“Sorry, I don’t mean to say all of that. I was just annoyed. But that’s not an excuse for what I said or how I treated you. You’re an amazing dancer.” He spoke, looking down at you as his hands hesitantly reached out to touch your hips. You kept your arms crossed. “Say it again” you spoke.
He nodded. “You’re amazing.”
“You better know it” you murmured, hands gently taking his. “Even better than too?” You grinned.
He smirked. “Yeah, maybe even better than me.” He murmured and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “With years of practice” he grinned.
You rolled your eyes. You hated how easily he could get you to cheer up, how easily he had you.
And he loved how easily he had you wrapped around his finger.
You and Sunoo have been together for about 6 months, he was your first love after your best friend died. Someone you loved and truly admired, and today was also the one year anniversary of them passing, so you really weren't up for much. Sunoo tried everything to make sure you were okay and taking the process smoothly. He knew how much your friend meant to you. He tried to make you laugh and smile, made you breakfast in bed and now you two were heading to the arcade. A special place for you and Sunoo.
He thought since you loved it so much with him, it could distract you.
His hand gripped yours tightly, a small sign of reassurance that even if his eyes were sparkling from amusement of the place, he was still there with you. Paying for the tickets and the coins, then proceeding to a racing game. "If you win, you can get that giant teddy bear, if I win, I get a kiss. Deal?" he said, tilting his head.
"Deal." you responded with a smile and he grinned.
As you both got set up in the game with a swipe of a card, the games started. Your mind distracted from the tragedy and you were having fun. "I won!" Sunoo shouted and grinned, his eye smile shining through. You laughed as you shook your head.
"You cheated." You spoke, crossing your arms and squinting your eyes. "No!" he whined before leaning in and taking a kiss, his hand on your cheek. You smiled and kissed back. You loved Sunoo, even if the two of you hadn't said the words. Maybe it was too early in the relationship, but your heart fluttered, he was just too pure and gorgeous for this world. For you, but you'd be dammed to think that you weren't lucky to have him. And you know he felt the same.
After a while, you and Sunoo stepped to a game. Not just any game. One you played with your best friend many times than you can count. You paused, you stopped. "Not this one." you said firmly, standing in place.
"But why, this is my favourite one." his started but stopped. "I just dont want to play this one, let's do another."
"But I want to play this one, you don't have to think of your best friend every time, aren't I important like them?" he said, and you paused. Was he really playing this card? Your face contorted, his face paused. "I didn't mean it like that-" he spoke, but you couldn't even think. You just walked away.
Sunoo felt horrible, he hated seeing you upset and knowing he caused you to feel that way, he couldn't stand it.
You sat at a table, watching a birthday party go on, your eyes tearing up, and all you wanted to do was run back into your boyfriend's arms, let him hold you. You wanted him to understand. Needed him to understand. You wiped the tears that escaped your eyes before carefully adjusting yourself. You just wanted to go home.
Before you could even process, a soft flushed hand tapped your shoulder and as you turned to face it, all you could see was a giant, dark brown teddy bear, covering your boyfriend's frame.
"Sunoo didn't mean it. Sunoo wants to apologise." The bear suddenly spoke in a deep voice. You smiled, slightly.
"Really, Sunoo does hm?" The bear nodded.
You sniffled and the bear was sat across from you on the booth, Sunoo pouted and reached out, wiping the tears from your eyes. "Princess, I don't like seeing you cry. I'm sorry, you know I didn't mean anything by it. I know how important they were to you, and for me to mention it was wrong, and I hope you can forgive me."
You bit your bottom lip nervously, "No mentioning them again.." you murmured and he reached his hand out and took it. "Never ever. And our new friend here needs a name, want to name them?" he asked, his thumb brushing over your knuckles.
You thought for a moment, eyes flickering over the bear.
You and Ni-ki had always been a chaotic couple, meeting at the ripe age of eighteen, to now being twenty year olds. Finally in a new apartment together and making it feel like home, slowly but shortly. Spending money on furniture, decorations and miscellaneous items for the place since you both bonded over your sense of fashion, you enjoyed the little things you two did together.
Laid slouched on the couch, you waited patiently for Ni-ki to get back from the store, having suggested a movie night, in your new place. You were happy. Content.
After a few moments, the doorknob turned. “Babe-!” He yelled out, slipping off his shoes and putting on the slippers you placed neatly by the door. “I’m home!” He spoke and you hoped up, greeting him with a gentle hug and a kiss on the lips. “Not too cold out i hope?” You asked, gently taking the bag from his hand. “Nope, perfect weather for someone like me.” He winked and you laughed.
Making your way to the living room, you sat on the couch, digging through the bad. “What? No air heads?” You asked, recalling the earlier conversation before he left. Specifically asking for airheads. It was a craving. Not just any random craving either. A period craving.
You frowned slightly, your hormones all out of whack, making your fav contort and your emotions switch quickly. “That’s the one thing I asked for Nik..” you spoke.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he plopped next to you. “I know, I remembered when I was half way home. I got donuts, just eat those.” He spoke. And you shook your head. Your eyes glossing over. The one thing you asked for and her forgot.
Looking into the bag, you realized more than half of it was just things he enjoyed. And your lip poked out. Yes you were being a big baby, but you thought it was justified. “But Ni-“ you spoke out but he sighed.
Your heart clenched more. But you continued.
“This isn’t what I asked for.” You said quietly.
He looked over at you. “What do you mean.” He sat up, looking in the bag. “This is what you like.”
You shook your head. “I eat it yeah, but I asked for one thing specific.”
You visibly saw his jaw clench. “Babe, just eat the snacks. You don’t have to be a big baby about it.” He murmured. And that was it.
“I’m not..” you murmured out, fighting tears in your eyes.
“You’re about to cry right now hun.” He pointed out and your heart ached. You didn’t expect it.
You shifted into the couch, the movie started playing but you weren’t in the mood. Ni-ki, noticing the shiftin you’d mood, his eyebrows softened as he looked at you “I’m sorry..” he spoke. But you didn’t budge. Your heart hurt. Even if it was over something small.
Quietly getting up, you made your way to the bedroom and shut the door, crawling under the blankets, your face facing the wall.
Ni-ki sighed, running his hands through his hair, he knew he hurt your feelings and truthfully he didn’t mean to, he’d always been a bit on the bolder side, but he knew he had to make this right.
The next morning, you went to work, not a word to Ni-ki even though he was up. He tried to kiss your head and apologize but your feelings were too hurt, a simple apology wasn’t going to fix this.
After work, Ni-ki went to a flower shop, picking up an arrangement of flowers peonies, lily’s and roses. Coming back home and fixing a dinner, some of your favorite foods, setting the dining table in ambiance’s and once you pulled up home. It was show time.
Ni-ki stood at the door, a comfortable outfit on, yet very calm and humbling. He couldn’t go a second without you being in his arms but he knew he had to make things right.
You entered the house and was greeted by the sight of your boyfriend, standing infront of you. And before you could say a word he stepped forward. “I’m so sorry hun, I never meant any of the words.” He started.
You sighed softly, your expression still guarded but he continued. “I shouldn’t have said why I said. You’re important to me, and so are your wants and needs. I was a jerk, a dick and I’m sorry.” He spoke, his hands reaching out to your waist. “Please forgive me.”
You sighed softly, your body relaxing before you caught a glimpse of the dining room, set nicely and the flower arrangement on the counter. Your eyes flickering back to your boyfriend, hair falling in his face, a softened look appearing.
“I forgive you.” You spoke and his heart stopped beating for a second before he placed one large hand on your cheek, his thumb brushing the skin. “I’m so happy to hear that..” he whispered before bringing you in for a kiss, lifting you up, his hands on your thighs. “I’m gonna make it up to you.” He spoke softly, and you carefully nuzzled into his neck.
With a day like that. The argument and stress of work. You needed this.
