A nice recommendation in The Austin Chronicle for the show! Opening tonight!
Show's up! (at Wally Workman Gallery)
Such a busy fall! I just finished 20 paintings for a solo show at Wally Workman Gallery. Here they are freshly delivered and waiting to be hung! The show will be up all of November, and there is an opening reception this Saturday, Nov 2nd 6-8pm.

Gallery hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
Close up on "Secrets We Tell Ourselves", just about done!
Another from the series of girls drawings. I think this one is finished as it is. The yellow liquid over top is varnish which I pour on. It adds an ethereal quality and also seals those parts of the paper and drawing so I could paint oil on top.
Here is a drawing from last year's series of girls which I never posted on the internet. This is 30" x 42" pastel on paper.
A few marker and ink sketches of Tom, and travel.
When other ideas fail, draw your drink! Sketching at some local spots around town. My favorite neighborhood coffee shop - Dolce Vita, the best Italian food in Austin - Sagra, and a new nose-to-tail restaurant with some well done cocktails - The Salty Sow. (Get the idea that I like to eat a lot?) That time between ordering and receiving your food is a perfect opportunity for a quick drawing!
A few more ball point pen sketches! Two of my dear lady friends relaxing at the springs, I like that one is reading a book and on the opposing page she is reading a kindle. The final sketch is a repeating drawing self portrait - "inception".
Just got back from a week long business seminar in the West Indies! Here is a sketch from the plane ride home. I promise a bigger sketchbook update coming soon.
Sketchbook page of eyeballs. Thinking about the lid wrapping around the eye and folding under the brow - so many different ways!
Good morning! Catching up on analysis about the State of The Union over coffee. (And by analysis I mean The Daily Show. By coffee I mean coffee + leftover chocolate cake.)
