Don’t wait for them to do it quietly and sweetly. Being told you’re still loved but being leaved is no less of a stab in the chest then being stormed out on. If it’s going to be a mess, then at least make it a spectacular one. Don’t go quietly. Don’t stay somewhere you don’t want to be solely because it feels safe. Take a sledgehammer to every slice of comfortability you have, then pick yourself up and start new. Change the locks. Give yourself a story to remember for years. It’s nice and easy to live comfortably, but a little excitement is what keeps you alive. Don’t trust the pain. Your heart can break and reheal, then break again like it is its first time shattering. But all the while it keeps on pumping.
