“you’re going home already?” your little sibling whined. “but you just got here!”
you giggled, taking their hands from across the small table. “im not leaving yet, dummy. im leaving in two days. hanta wants to talk things out, and i think it’d be rude of me to refuse.”
“it wouldn’t be,” your father grumbled from the couch. you rolled your eyes.
“anyway, you guys still have plenty of time with me!” you exclaimed. “what should we do?”
“let’s go to the mall!” your sibling gasped, grinning suddenly. they hopped up from their seat and called out for the eldest sibling. you giggled, pulling out your phone. though he had called you last night, sero was yet to text you that day.
“i made a mistake.”
suddenly, the night was still. that summer breeze was cold against your forming goosebumps. when you remained silent, he continued.
“i-i really don’t wanna say it over the phone... i need to see you.” another pause where you didn’t say anything. you felt an ache in your heart again. you couldn’t distinct it from longing or hurt. “when do you get home?”
you gulped, finding that you hadn’t breathed since you answered the phone. “there’s no set time. i was playing it by ear.”
“was?”
you paused, briefly this time. “how badly do you want to talk?”
“desperately,” he said without skipping a beat, making your heart do the same.
“how does friday sound?” you asked, trying to keep your tone level. it was tuesday.
“perfect.”
“i... i’ll see you then.”
you hung up before anything else could be said. your mind was spinning, and the ache in your heart had settled into a quickened heartbeat. you stared down at the black screen of your phone, looking at the stars in the reflective surface.
“who was that?” your sibling asked as they climbed back onto the roof. they had grabbed two cans of soda.
“hanta.”
you spent the afternoon at the mall, laughing with or at (but mostly at) your siblings. you ran into some old friends and caught up a bit, smiling the entire time. on the ride home, the sun was setting, but you didn’t regret a second of your day.
a new car was in the driveway when your trio pulled in. your eyes widened at the sight of sero and your mother talking on the porch swing. he stood when you pulled in. you hopped out of the car as he jogged up. it was strange not to jump right into his arms on sight.
“what happened to friday?” you asked when he finally reached you. he shook his head.
“i couldn’t wait,” he explained. “listen, i love you. i love you so much it’s unbelievable. i just needed an excuse to break up with you-” your heart ached and you cringed. “hear me out. because i don’t deserve you.” your expression dropped.
“hanta-”
“im not done,” he sighed, closing his eyes briefly. he looked like he had gotten no sleep. “you’re way too good for me, y/n. you wake me up in the mornings, you make me breakfast, you put up with me... you’re the best girlfriend in the world, and i don’t deserve you.”
“but you do,” you laughed incredulously. “you do.” you took his hands in yours, and he seemed to relax a little. “you don’t have to think you’re perfect, you don’t have to be perfect. i don’t care what you are, i want you. you make me happy, and i love you so much. if anything, i don’t deserve you.”
he was about to say another thing, but you quickly moved your hands to cup his face and pulled him into a sweet kissed. you poured all of your emotions onto his lips as he instinctively wrapped his warm arms around your waist, bringing you closer to him as he returned the kiss with the same passion.
when you both finally pulled away, you dropped your head into his shoulder, inhaling his scent. “i love you,” you muttered, your words slightly muffled in the material of his sweatshirt.
“i love you, too,” he whispered into your hair, holding you like if he let you go again, he’d lose you. as you two stood in your driveway in the fall breeze, holding each other like it was the end of the world, he realized he was home.
someone cleared their throat. you both loosened your grip on each other, looking toward your porch, where the rest of your family was waiting. your mom and younger sibling were smiling on the porch swing, your older sibling looking unbothered, and your father standing in the doorway with his arms crossed.
“h-hey, mr. l/n,” sero grinned nervously, making you stifle a giggle.
he looked the boy up and down with a sigh. “dinner’s getting cold, son.” and he went inside.
sero was glued to his spot as the rest of your family trickled inside, laughing at his expression. you slipped away from his grasp, taking his hand.
“ready for the most painful dinner of your life?” you laughed. he looked at your smiling face and found himself grinning.
endeavor was never your biggest fan. he thought you were too weak for his son. your quirk could be impressive, but you “didn’t use it right”. and he couldn’t understand how todoroki could love someone so cheerful and childish. he did not approve of you two. but then he was caught in a battle with you...
you were quick to jump to the scene when it happened, after hearing it was nearby. you changed into your costume and went. and there was endeavor.
“what are you doing here?!” he demanded. “you’re not qualified enough for this!”
“i know you don’t like me,” you shouted over the roaring monster quirk, “but this is no time to berate me!”
but before he could retort back, another villain appeared and threw out a bomb near endeavor. you swiftly snatched a nearby trash lid, hardening it with your quirk and chucking it at them before running over to the hero. as the bomb ticked down and he found himself unable to run, you hardened and expanded your cape, draping it over him. all he heard was the muffled sound of the bomb going off.
todoroki was worried sick. his girlfriend was in the hospital, and his unshakable father was shaken. he sat in the waiting room next to him, but he had barely said a word to his son.
“she saved me,” he finally spoke. todoroki turned to him. his father was staring blankly at his lap. “i was trying to lecture her, but she was focused on the fight. then i got distracted, and she sacrificed herself.” he looked down at the cloak he was gripping in his hands. though it looked limp on his hands, the weaving of it had been strong enough to block the force of a bomb. “for me.”
“maybe you should have acknowledged that there’s a reason she does what she does,” todoroki said coldly. before he could continue, a nurse came out and announced you were ready for visitors.
“the notes are in the red binder,” you said as kaminari shuffled around your room.
“thanks,” he chuckled, watching as you pulled out a box from your lap. “whatcha eatin’?”
“pocky,” you said, putting a stick into your mouth and holding out the box to him. “want one?”
“sure,” he shrugged, smirking. you continued to write with one hand, waiting to feel him take one and leave. you did not expect a hand to tilt your chin toward him.
and you certainly didn’t expect when you looked up and met kaminari’s devious eyes as he bit off the other end of your pocky stick, dangerously close to your lips.
but then he was half way out the door, waving goodbye. “thanks again!”
summary/background after your boyfriend, sero, breaks up with you, you go home to visit your family. meanwhile, sero realizes that the reason he broke up with you was dumb. you were home, but sero discovers that his home was with you. (pt. 2!)

sero had never felt so... wrong.
it was strange to wake up in an empty bed, and know that it would remain that way. some mornings you’d come straight from your apartment and fall into the covers with him, giggling and loving on him until noon. the notion alone made him feel colder than ever. whether than cold was physical or simply coursing through his nerves, he couldn’t tell.
he was scrolling through his instagram feed, wrapped up in blankets. it was one of those days where he couldn’t get himself out of bed. on these mornings, you’d always barge in and drag him out while giggling. and he’d start laughing, too. but he had ruined that.
with these thoughts in mind, he looked for your profile. seeing you had one new post, his thumb hovered over the profile. he knew if one of his friends had been there, they would’ve told him not to do it. though he was the one being stupid, they don’t need him any more hurt than he already is.
he looked over your profile picture, seeing a picture of you smiling instead of the picture of you on his back. with a sigh, he clicked onto your profile.
almost everything was the same as it was a week ago. his name was taken out of your bio, his face was taken out of your profile picture, and any photos of the two of you together was either deleted or archived. he didn’t know which he would’ve preferred. he wondered if you or mina had been the one to take them down in the first place.
he clicked onto your newest post. it was a picture of you with a goofy smile that made him smile despite himself. you were laying somewhere, one of your siblings making a face at the flash of your camera. a different sibling was a simple blur in the background, obviously laughing.

after reading that last comment, he quickly shut off his phone, sighing heavily with a frustrated groan. he buried his head back into his pillow. his heart ached uncontrollably, and the ache spread through his chest, into his neck, and tickled his brain. god, he was an idiot.
“i think we need to break up,” he said, so softly that he prayed you hadn’t heard it. prayed he could take it back before you even knew. he felt his own heart stop.
“what?” you breathed, breaking away from the arm over your shoulder, your eyes catching his in an instant. he turned his gaze away. “hanta, what?”
he took a breath, remembering the words he had practiced in the mirror days before. “i don’t love you anymore.” and he looked up to meet your eyes.
he watched your heart break. “wh-what?” your voice was hushed now, choked. you scooted farther away from him, and he felt unbearably cold. cold and wrong. “y-you don’t... anymore?” you brought your shaking hands up to your face, holding them over your eyes for a moment as you tried to compose yourself.
he wanted so desperately to take it back, to stop the cold and wrongness from coursing through his veins. he reached a hand out, but you stood in that instant. tears streamed down your face as you made for the door.
“mina will be here to get my stuff tomorrow.”
your voice was cold now, trying to brush him off.
“y/n-”
“what,” you demanded, whipping around to him. but as he looked into your watery eyes, your upset expression, he couldn’t find words. you just sighed, grabbing your jacket from the coat rack and leaving before he could blink again.
he looked at his reflection in the black screen of his phone, seeing nothing but tired eyes and a deep frown. he closed his eyes and sighed, slipping his phone into the pocket of his sweatpants before shaking his covers off and getting out of bed.
when he entered his bathroom, looking into the mirror was a chore. all he saw in his reflection was a broken half; half of a whole he had broken.
“you’re a fucking idiot,” was the first thing bakugou said when sero finally picked up his phone. before he could retort, he threw out again, “what the hell were you thinking? oh hey, life’s good, time to throw out the best fucking part of it?! where do you get off?!”
sero hung up before anything else could be said, dropping his head in his hands. his phone dinged with another notification and he took a deep breath before picking the device back up. he had ignored so many texts that morning.
bakugou pick up your goddamn phone.
eijiro call me when you can

and most recently:
yn <3 mina will be over around three.
he dropped his phone onto the floor. he didn’t look at it again until the next day.
after he finally showered, he sat down for breakfast in a kitchen that felt too empty. if you weren’t falling into bed with him in the mornings, you were dragging him out to a breakfast you had perfectly prepared for him. he’d always shower you in kisses before he ate, and you’d giggle the entire time. his heart ached at the memory.
to distract himself, he got his phone back out, opening up instagram again. he scrolled through some of his friends’ pictures until he found that your sibling had posted something, halting his actions. he had forgotten that he was following them.
there were three pictures: one of you leaning against their shoulder, the light of your phone illuminating your upset features, another of you with uno cards in your hand, but staring at the wall instead of the game or your other participating family, and the final of your mother frowning and holding you in her arms, her eyes shut as your expression was tired and upset.
snrox @ the asshole that broke my sister’s heart, fuck you
queenoaliens who taught you cuss words???
snrox ... @//bakusplosion

despite the cruel, heartbreaking post, he missed your family. he remembered the first time he met them; your siblings stuck to him like glue, asking him questions left and right as you laughed and batted them away. your parents were patient and kind with him, though your father made a few jabs at him. he was even missing those little threats and promises.
he wished he had never done it. but he felt like he wasn’t good enough for you. like he’d never be. if you were there, hearing these thoughts, you’d kiss him into next week. you’d shower him with your love and affection until he was smiling again with you in his arms. but after you’d leave, he’d just feel like he’d further proven his point.
so he knew to get rid of this feeling, he had to get rid of you. and it would hurt like hell, but he knew some guy out there was perfect for you, enough for you. and he was waiting for you. and who was some boring guy like him to be standing in the way?
but he missed your smile. he missed how warm you always were, even when you said you were cold. he missed teasing you about “making up excuses to cuddle”. he missed the way you’d light up a room. he missed how every insecurity he had would disappear with you, because you made him feel perfect.
“im gonna kick his ass into next week,” mina grumbled as she watched you frown at yourself in the bathroom mirror. you let out a short laugh and bowed your head. “fuck that, next month.”
“mina, don’t,” you said, sliding your hand against the counter as you turned to look at her.
she sighed as you looked back at your reflection, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. “i hate seeing you look into the mirror like that.”
your head turned back to her. “like what?”
“like there’s something wrong with what you’re seeing,” she said gently, stepping closer to you. you sniffed, your frown deepening. she quickly wrapped her arms around you.
“but there has to be,” you choked, squeezing your eyes shut as hot tears fell.
“no, no,” she soothed, pressing her face into your hair as you hiccuped into her shoulder. “there’s nothing wrong with you. sero is such an idiot. you’re absolutely perfect.”
“then why doesn’t he want me?” you whispered, so softly it was almost muffled by her shoulder.
she placed her chin atop your head, looking at her own murderous expression in the mirror. she didn’t answer.
you laughed as your older sibling dragged you onto the roof of your house. when you were younger, it was where you’d take each other when things got hard and all you needed were the stars and the rolling sight of your hometown.
“oh! i forgot something!” they hummed. “i’ll be right back!”
they slipped back into the cracked window. you shoved your hands in your pockets, looking out on the familiar town. it had been so long since you’d been home. the last time you were here was with him...
you shook the thought out easily. you ignored the buzzing of your phone as you looked up to the stars in the sky. the overwhelming sight made your head spin, and you giggled at yourself as you carefully sat and laid down. the buzzing stopped after you pieced together three familiar constellations.
it started again, but you ignored it again. you just wanted to feel the breeze of home air, to let yourself get lost like you used to. and it was so easy to get lost in the simple place that was home. all you had dreamed of back then was leaving that town, getting into the world. now all you wanted to do was lay there forever. well, maybe with mina by your side. the buzzing stopped.
you closed your eyes, letting your nose flood with the scents of your mom’s homemade dinner leaking through the open kitchen window. as that breeze whipped through again, your mind finally cleared. your heart felt a little lighter.
then the buzzing started again. with a jolt, you sat up. you slipped your phone out of your back pocket, and almost froze.
sero hanta </3 is calling...
accept/deny
your heart raced in your chest. you glanced down briefly to see if your sibling was heading back up. you couldn’t tell. you gulped.
accept.
“hello..?” you said carefully, hoping he had misdialed, hoping he would hang up at the sound of your voice. hoping he wasn’t calling to break your heart any more after you went to the only place that could piece it back together.
summary/background you’re a fairly innocent gal, especially so having grown up in a form of isolation. you’re very oblivious to modern terms and slang, and the girls make an effort to educate and adore you at all times. most recently, they introduce you to the term ‘crush’, which leads to them believing you have one. but figuring it out seems like more effort than asking...

“ne, y/n-chan, do you have a crush on anyone?” mina winked.
“crush..?” she sounded carefully.
“you know, like someone you really like, like more than a friend,” she explained. y/n sat down, still confused. “like, you think they’re cute and cool, and you wouldn’t mind getting closer with them, and you wouldn’t mind doing couple stuff with them.”
“couple stuff?” she prodded further, tilting her head.
“you’re so cute!” mina gushed. “like hand holding, going on dates, kissing, things like that!”
she nodded slowly, pondering. then she started blushing. “i should go.”
“whaaa?” mina exclaimed as the other girls gaped while she stood and rushed away.
“i wonder if y/n-chan has a secret someone..,” toru whispered when the blushing girl had disappeared down the hall, making them gasp.
“oh my gosh, that could be true!” uraraka gasped. “i wonder who!”
“are you kidding?” jiro scoffed. “it’s obviously kirishima. they train together every day!”
mina butt in, “no, no, bakugou has a total soft spot for her! it has to be him!”
“i thought her and kaminari had a thing..?” tsuyu questioned. “he’s been teaching her video games forever.”
“wait, i thought her and todoroki were hanging out the other day! what if...”
bets were placed, and their week was decided. they were going to do their best to find out who the secret someone in the innocent girl’s life was.
when they walked into class the next day, y/n was looking over midoriya’s shoulder at his notebook.
“that’s very impressive, midoriya,” she complimented softly. he blushed, analyzing how close she was. his gaze darted around the room instead. “you’re very observant. do you have a page about me?”
“a-actually,” he flushed, flipping to the back. “i only have a few things down. i was in the infirmary for your battle during the sports festival, a-and you’ve only shown so much in training...”
she hummed. “maybe that’s a good thing.” then she shot him a quick smile before going to her seat, leaving him flushing in his own.
uraraka nudged toru, who shrugged simply.
at lunch time, she was with todoroki in the library. momo and jiro followed them, leaning on a bookcase near the table they had settled at.
“what was bakugou bothering you about earlier?” he questioned simply, opening a book and taking out his notebook.
she spared him a glance as she scribbled something down. “i’m not entirely sure myself. lately he seems to just grab my attention for the sake of... well, attention.” she chuckled and he cracked a small smile. the peeping girls sent each other silently urgent looks.
“that sounds like him,” todoroki sighed. “without attention, he’s just some guy who shoots stuff.”
“aren’t we all?” she sighed simply and he chuckled.
the girls snuck away in their shock.
before class started after lunch, bakugou went up to her and handed her a notebook. “you dropped this earlier, dumbass.”
“oh, thanks bakugou,” she said, giving him a soft smile. he flushed.
“tch. whatever, dumbass. don’t lose it again.” and he walked back over to his desk.
mina turned her wide eyes to jiro, who shook her head defiantly.
aizawa was running late, so they all started chattering, milling about the room. kaminari sauntered over to her desk and sat down, startling her from her book.
“we on for tonight?” he asked, tilting his head.
she nodded. “of course. if i can’t learn how to take you down in video games, then what does the real thing matter?”
he laughed and they continued chattering until aizawa walked in. jiro motioned an obvious hand to the two, but tsuyu just frowned while mina crossed her arms.
after school, she gathered her things before kirishima came to her desk and excitedly asked, “you ready?!”
“always,” she said, giving him a light high five before walking out of the room together.
if they knew toru was glaring at them, they would be quaking.
these occurrences continued all week, boys coming in and out of their standings, and ultimately frustrating all of the girls.
“let’s just ask her,” uraraka groaned one night when they all holed up in mina’s room to gossip.
“no!” mina exclaimed. “this tension is something that reality shows would die for! we have to wait it out!”
“or maybe we could push her closer?” tsuyu suggested. “just nudge her toward some of the boys slowly to see which reacts the most... coupley?”
the girls nodded, considering, when they heard giggling in the hallway. a giggling that was so distinctly yours, followed by a deep male voice. their eyes widened and they rushed to pressed their ears against the door and crack it the tiniest bit.
they saw her standing at the door to her room as the male voice droned on. something he said made her hit his shoulder as she giggled quietly. he joined. they couldn’t distinctly pick out who’s voice it was from the muffled hearing, nor could they catch a clear glimpse with their limited view.
“thank you for another wonderful date,” she said sincerely. they all exchanged looks. “you know, the girls were mentioning things about what they called ‘crushes’ the other day. people that you would do couple things with...”
“is this your way of saying you have a crush on me?” he teased.
“well..,” she muttered shyly. “i feel like that is such a childish term, i...” they watched as his figure drew ever so closer to hers. “i guess i would not mind doing...” her voice lowered as they blearily saw him lean in even closer. “couple things with you...”
there was a silence that followed, and they could only imagine that he had kissed her, making uraraka shake tsuyu beneath her out of pure excitement.
when they separated, they tilted their heads away from each other, smiling and flushing.
“i guess i wouldn’t mind doing couple things with you either,” he hummed. he chuckled. “good night, y/n.”
“first name?!?” mina whispered harshly, making jiro clamp a hand on her mouth.
“night,” the girl muttered as he walked away. and that’s when they saw it. the messy purple hair, the eye bags...
she turned to her door, twisting the handle. she then turned to the girls cracked door, and they froze. “i hope that clears it up for you, girls.” she entered the room as their jaws dropped. “good night.”
