chat I just finished the sequel to the house in the cerulean sea and… suffice to say the thought of Lucy as a teenager is one of the most riveting things to ever be conceived and now I’ve got ideas of writing a funny lil chaotic lil fic where Lucy gets a weird crush on J-Bone and Antichrist themed hijinks ensue

wasn't sure if I should share this but...

Had a little fella say 'mummy, mummy, what's wrong with that lady?' today

And the mother looked at me, actually smiled at me rather than looking panicked, and said, 'Nothing - everyone is different, and that's what makes the world interesting!'

She didn't make a big deal of it! She just went back to looking out the window with the kid and pointing out birds and stuff! She didn't feel the need to go on a huge apologetic spiel, or - worse yet - hurry the kid on, not answer the question, and completely shun me, lol. She didn't feel the need to come over and pester me and use me as an Inspirational Teaching moment (which, to be clear, I wouldn't actually mind if the kid continued to be curious - I'd rather educate kids especially. Even if it can be annoying, ngl)

But just. It's that easy!!

Someone take me away from all civilisation until my body forgets what it feels like to rewatch luca 5 times in a week. And then take my memory away so that i can watch it again for the first time.

The only thought i have had for the last two days has purely only been about luca. I wholeheartedly believe there isn't a single word in the english language that accurately describes what i feel for this movie.

Fic Update!

because i wanted you to know chapter 3/4

When I watched Luca for the first time I thought it was a pure fanfiction of Call Me By Your Name. I couldn't believe that they made a Pixar version of Elio and Oliver, but there it was. How amazing! I instantly fell in love with every single bit of this movie. I've always wanted to write Oliver x Elio, but I am not smart enough to get into their heads. This seems like a fitting alternative.

This story was inspired by the most beautiful artwork by @candykale (if you do not want to be linked to this, let me know!)

Synopsis: Luca comes to visit Portorosso after his first year at university.

Excerpt:

The sea air hits his nose as soon as he opens the door of the cab. It’s dark, past midnight, but the familiar smell, salty and fresh, fills his nose and lungs as he inhales deeply.

Home.

The shoreline is at least fifty meters from where the taxi has parked at the edge of town. Luca can’t see the water from there. It’s hidden behind the buildings and the darkness of the cloudy night sky, but he senses it in the warm breeze. It’s calling for him from down below the streets of the small coastal town.
