At the moment of this post, this legend of a man, Walter Bates, is battling cancer that has come back in his stomach. Doctors say he doesn’t have much time left. I’m grateful for the time I was able to spend with him and create commissioned portraits of him. Walter is a 92 year old veteran who’s lived a wonderful life. I guess the point is, he lived.
