Dress-Modding Course - Part 2

Hello, everyone! 💖 In this second part of our tutorial series, we’ll continue working together to create our own dress for InZOI. 👗✨ After creating the dress mesh, shaping it with the Cloth Simulation, and transferring the weights in the first episode, we’ll now continue preparing our dress in Blender. Next, we’ll unwrap the mesh and create a suitable UV map. While doing so, we’ll check right away to make sure our UVs are laid out cleanly and that the dress can be textured without any issues later on. 🧵 As a little accent, we’ll also add an elegant gold belt to our dress. ✨ We’ll add the belt directly in Blender and assign it an appropriate material. Next, we’ll test our dress with a patterned material to see how the pattern renders on the mesh. This allows us to verify that our UV map was created correctly and that the dress is well-prepared for later texturing. 👗 If everything looks good, we’ll export our finished mesh using the InZOI ModKit plugin, paving the way for the next step in our mod. Hi, everyone! 💖

In this video, we’ll continue creating our own earrings for InZOI—and we’ll wrap up our project together. ✨💎

This time, we’ll start in GIMP and edit the textures we previously baked in Blender. Step by step, we’ll create and edit all the maps needed for our ModKit material: the Base Color Map, the RGB Mask Map, and the ARM Map.

For the RGB Mask Map, we’ll assign the colors to three different color channels. This allows us to combine two different textures with the metallic area of our earrings to create, for example, a beautiful gradient. 🎨✨

Next, we’ll switch to ModKit. There, we’ll import our mesh, create the required material, and apply all the prepared textures. In the Data Editor, we make the necessary adjustments before exporting our earrings and testing them directly in the game.

But we’re not quite done yet! 😊 After the first test, we make a small correction to the mesh in Blender. Then we import the revised version back into ModKit and test our earrings a second time in the game.

Finally, we’ll create the matching thumbnail for the CAZ catalog, putting the finishing touches on our custom-made earrings. 💖✨

So: Have GIMP and Blender ready, open ModKit, don’t forget your coffee ☕, and let’s get started!

My Own World - Part 5

This time, we’re creating a cozy beach right on our little lake—a place where our Paras can enjoy the warm days and relax. With comfortable lounge chairs, shady umbrellas, and lots of thoughtful details, we’re building a little oasis of well-being right in the heart of our future city.

Of course, fun is a must: a barbecue area invites everyone to spend evenings together, while a sandbox with a small sandcastle creates a cozy and lively atmosphere. And when the sun goes down, a telescope is ready and waiting to observe the clear night sky and the stars.

My Own World - Part 4

After designing the outdoor area of our cozy pizzeria right on the lake in the last episode, today we’re focusing on the interior. Together, we’ll set up the dining area, decorate every detail with great care, and make sure the pizzeria feels just as cozy on the inside as it does on the outside. A special highlight is the bar, which I’m particularly proud of. A custom-built wall shelf for drinks creates a real eye-catcher that gives the interior its very own charm 🌺

We import our finished hair mesh into the ModKit, create the hair material, and set up the first color options and highlights. 🌈

During testing, we spot a small issue with the third highlight color, so we jump back into Blender to adjust the UV Map before reimporting the updated mesh and finishing the final settings in the Data Editor. 🚀

Finally, it's time for the best part: testing the completed hair in-game! 💕 I'm so happy with how the colors and highlights turned out—they work exactly as I imagined.

In this episode, we’ll work together to create UV Map 1 and UV Map 2. UV Map 2, in particular, plays an important role because it allows for custom adjustments later on, including highlights or an ombre look.

We’ll also set up the material slots for the hair and scalp, handle the weight painting so the hair animates correctly later, and prepare our finished mesh for export.
