Everything has gone to shit. I don’t know how long I have. Between these monsters and myriad of hallucinations, I’m not sure what will get to me first. I leave this journal in case anyone else finds this place. The Hollows are a trap, and you have doomed yourselves by coming here, but it’s not all lost. It was overwhelming. Within only the first few weeks, our technology and even our culture shifted with new discoveries and understanding. The landscapes and ancient architecture were awe aspiring, and even the light from the great machine at the bubble’s heart was one of the most beautiful things I’d ever encountered. Missing home was quickly replaced with guilt that so few of us were allowed to live in such a place.

All the while, we would learn all we could from the technology we would find, looting all we could to bring back as tribute to a planet we’d have long left behind. Our sacrifices would mean untold prosperity for all humanity.

We hatched a plan to cut through the bulk to enter the bubble outside our universe. It could not have come from outside our own plane, according to our physics. It must have “fallen” or been pushed out of space-time in some manner. Our theory was that the universe should push back, but isn’t; something was holding it there. That something should be found within the bubble itself.

Sense of Scale

I wanted to keep the regions relatively small because there are only around 150,000 people in the Hollow, so there wouldn't be much development, AND because of how the Spires are spaced. The idea was that Nations would form around each of the 6 spires, but... the spires with the old maths were just... so far away.

It wouldn't make sense to expand that far especially with the earlier history. It would be more likely that they spread to nearby islands. It would be easy to just say "they picked a spire and expanded from there" but the spires were supposed to play a key role in events later.

Now... because they ARE later, player driven events, Hunters could just be sent out to the great, unexplored territories of the Hollow to find the Spires which could be really thematic, but I’m not sold on it yet. I’m leaning hard in to it though.

Its either, keep the Hollow the same size (around that of Earth) and relocate everyone to a chain of islands near a single Spire, OR shrink the Hollow to the size roughly that of Rhode Island.

(re)added Exohumans to the available playable Humans.

EXOHUMAN

Transhumans who had welded their brain, spine, and organs which could not be replicated by machinery to an artificial frame were known as Exohumans. Though their bodies could have been described as “machine”, their physical capabilities were comparable to their biological counterparts.

During the Lost Age, the bodies of the Exo were corrupted, like most machines within the Hollow, and began acting on their own. Their bodies became a prison, driving them mad and turning them into Ghouls.

Exohuman bodies are now built with NeuNet Locks preventing this type of corruption.

If an Exohuman suffers Exaustion, they will suffer only half the effects until they suffer another instance of the Condition.

Exohuman automatically gain a Brain Case, Hazard Seals, and the Die Hard Perk.

Electrical Damage dealt to the Exohuman will be Critical if the target rolls a value 1 lesser or greater than their Skill Rank.
