Fashion is a trend that will constantly keep changing. We have already began going back to what was known as fashion 10-15 years ago. Designs will constantly keep going around and the same fashion sense will constantly keeping coming back around. Every one person follows trends, whether it is something that was known as 'fashionable' 5, 10 or even 15 years ago, it is still fashionable know matter when. Fashion is like a cycle, one that will continuously go round in circles no matter what. It will continue to spin round as older people say, 'Oh, I remember that'.
For the fashion industry, everyone knows at least one fashion designer. However, for me, Hayden Williams who is both a fashion designer and illustrator seems to have inspired me with his illustrative views on the fashion industry. The sketches offer a more distinct and realistic vibe. Williams illustrates what famous celebrities wear and how it was worn. All his sketches show a confident woman or man in their clothing, all petite and tall with the strongest facial features.
I want to create a set of stamps using Hayden Williams work as my inspiration. I will look at the evolution of clothing and how it has changed overtime.
1) To have this change in designer clothing spread over the set of stamps.
2) To choose three British designers picking the best qualities of their clothing, e.g. face from one designer, waist from another and legs from another.
Music is also another trend which is also seen as a necessity for some individuals. I feel that music can be seen to escape as well as something to listen to. Although, people can interpret both fashion and music differently, I feel that there is always one genre of music and one specific fashion identity in which everyone follows. No one is left looking original unless its Lady Gaga.
With the music sector, my initial idea is to study how British music has changed over time. Illustrations like the ones above would help and this would be how I would sketch the artists.
Grand Prix is a massive motor racing course. The Grand Prix endures a sensation which cannot be understood by anyone else other than the driver. Therefore, I feel it would be a good idea to sketch the previous champions from the Grand Prix with the car that they drove below them. This could also be drawn in the same illustrative way as the sketches above. However, composition would need to be altered. Like my previous post, faces would need to be kept mannequin like, but with known clothing.
