Gender & Pronouns: Female, she/her Date of Birth: April 25, 1989 (30) Place of Birth: Newport Beach, California Neighborhood: Newport Center Length of Residency: 30 years Occupation: Exotic Dancer & Dance Instructor at Balboa Island Resort Face Claim: Inbar Lavi
BIOGRAPHY
Since the day she was born, ask anyone and they’d tell you Jasmine Abrams was destined to be a ballerina. As a little girl, she would dance around her parents’ tiny one bedroom apartment, practicing pirouettes, leaps, and constantly wearing her the one tutu she’d been given for her birthday. She would get in trouble for staying up too late watching ballet on pbs. Once she was old enough to ride her bicycle on her own, she could be found sitting outside the local dance studio watching any and all ballet classes. The owner got so used to seeing her there, she eventually invited Jasmine in and gave her a little seat to sit in the corner and watch, so she could get out of the heat. Over and over again, the owner would ask her to join the classes, but Jasmine always declined, despite her obvious desire to. After 6 months of this, the owner went to Jasmine’s parents and asked if they would enroll their daughter. When Jasmine’s father laughed in the owner’s face and sent her away, Jasmine’s mother quietly apologized and explained they couldn’t afford the expensive classes. The owner took Jasmine under her wing though, and started letting the brunette participate in classes for free.
Despite having an abusive, drug dealing father and a mother who couldn’t stand up to him at home, when Jasmine was at the studio she was able to forget everything and dream. She dreamed of a future where she and her mother would leave Newport behind, where they’d start afresh and create a new life for themselves. A life that included ballet. Even at a young age, she never wanted much, just for her mother to be happy and for her to be able to do ballet. When Jasmine danced, these things felt possible, her dreams were reachable. But when she packed up her gym bag at the end of class each day and headed back home, reality very quickly threatened to strangle the dreams out of her.
During her senior year of high school, the owner of the dance studio Jasmine had been practicing at for years, secretly sent in an application to Julliard School of the Arts under Jasmine’s name. This of course, came as a huge surprise to Jasmine a few months later when she received her acceptance letter in the mail. Thrilled beyond belief, Jasmine finally let herself believe that her dreams might just come true after all. After graduation, Jasmine and her mother would finally be able to leave Newport and Jasmine would be able to pursue ballet professionally. Those dreams came crashing down a month before graduation, when her father was given a 30 year to life jail sentence and her mother had a heart attack from the shock. Jasmine immediately had to take on a lot more responsibility at home. By the time fall semester rolled around, she had to defer from Julliard so she could take care of her mom. That one-year deferment turned into another and pretty soon, Jasmine was beginning to feel trapped. Her mother never fully recovered from the heart attack and Jasmine had to take on the role of sole provider for the two of them.
After a year or two of barely making ends meat, and with seemingly no other options, Jasmine turned to dance to try and make a living. She had spent all those years becoming a good dancer, might as well try to use some of her skills at least. She got a job as an exotic dancer at a local joint and turned out to be pretty good. Who knew ballet could translate so well to stripping? Jasmine quickly rose in the ranks and managed to even get a job at one of the best/classiest strip clubs in Newport. Her pretty/innocent face makes her an easy favorite of her clients. Despite her sunshiney, always sees the glass as half full, not empty, personality, Jasmine is actually quite miserable, if she were to ever truly open up about how she feels. When she started out as a stripper all those years ago, she truly believed it was simply a means to an end, a way to make ends meat for a little while. She never imagined that at 30 years old, she would still be doing this. The lack of her dream ever actualizing has really started to take a toll on Jasmine and she’s beginning to wonder if she was ever really meant for something bigger than this.
TRAITS
Positive: Genuine | Good-hearted | Warm
Negative: Cynical | Impatient | Impulsive
HEADCANONS
Jasmine is incredibly scared of clowns of any kind. Ever since she was a kid, when she would see one, she’d scream. She’s learned to control that reaction a little bit in her adult years, but she still starts to feel really anxious anytime she sees them. Nothing ever happened to cause this, she just hates/fears them so freaking much. IT is literally her worst nightmare. In fact, she refuses to watch movies or tv shows that have clowns in them. She’ll actually cover her eyes if one pops up on screen.
Despite practically being a freaking ballerina AND an exotic dancer, both of which demand a good deal of coordination, Jasmine is extremely clumsy. When she’s not dancing, she trips over her own two feet a lot. She also tends to drop things a good bit of the time and doesn’t always do a good job of watching where she’s going. She simply has too much going on in that head of hers all the time to pay attention to the ‘details.’
Jasmine can also be a bit scatterbrained and with that comes a bit of messiness as well. Not overly so, there’s usually a method to her madness, but it’s just very hard for anyone else to see what that method is. Most of the time, she doesn’t bother even trying to explain it because no one ever seems to be able to follow the train of thought that lead her to put that book in the kitchen cabinet. She’s not really embarrassed about it either. Jasmine lives her life her way and it works for her!

“Here for a pre-work pick me up, been there done that. Well, probably should’ve done that earlier, maybe I wouldn’t be here scaring the locals.” she said. “I should start bringing a flask to work…” The thought was entertaining enough for Daniela knowing how her mother would react. “Rough day would be the PC, abridged version of it but, yeah, sure we’ll go with that.” The brunette flashed the woman a quick smile. “So, what is it that you do that warrants some liquid courage?”
“A flask, now there’s a good idea!” Jasmine agreed with a chuckle, before finishing off her drink. “I’m sorry it’s been worse than rough.” she offered an apologetic smile, hopefully it’ll get better. “I’m a stripper.” she explained casually, setting her now empty glass down. “I actually really love it, but some days you just need to be in the right mindset, you know?” She reached up to brush her hair out of her face. “What about you?” she asked curiously.

Jasmine rushed into Lash Out Loud wearing gigantic sunglasses that practically covered half her face. She had gone a few weeks longer than she should have between lash appointments and needless to say, she was pretty embarrassed at the state of her lashes now. As she quickly made her way to the front desk, she let out a sigh of relief when she saw Nadine, owner of the establishment and also one of her favorite people. “Oh my god! Never, ever let me go this long without getting a touch up!” she cried dramatically as she took her sunglasses off. “I’m a complete mess!”

Tonight had felt like a mission. Attempting to out-run her father’s bodyguards felt more like a workout session than leisure play. She quickly made sure to duck into the closest restroom to freshen up before hitting the bar and dance floor once the liquid courage overtook her. Right after peeping out of the restroom, clear of her bodyguards, a fight unfolding in the club, simply caught her attention. Speaking loud enough toward the individual beside her, Alessandra couldn’t pull her focus away, “God, I go to the restroom and hell breaks loose.” It wouldn’t necessarily ruin her evening. Alessandra will go to the bar and dance her heart away. Perhaps, her phone would explode with thousands of messages from her father and his bodyguards but she’d proceed on like nothing. “How long has this been going on?”
Jasmine usually spent so much time in the club because of her job, that the chances of finding her out on a night off were pretty slim, but a friend was having a bachelorette party and Jasmine had felt like she had to attend. After several hours of everyone trying, and succeeding, to get the bride to be completely wasted, everyone had kind of started dispersing, leaving Jasmine to her own devices. She didn’t particularly mind though, while the girls were great, she wasn’t super close with any of them, and now she could leave when she wanted, if she wanted to.
She was making her way to the bathroom when a commotion just to her right caught her attention, a second later she was getting shoved backwards as the crowd backed up to allow room for the fight. Rolling her eyes a bit, Jasmine deftly side stepped the crowd and stopped a few feet away, at a safe distance. She watched the drunken display for a few moments before she was pulled from her reverie by a voice beside her. She hadn’t even noticed the beautiful blonde beside her. “Just long enough to be so completely cliche.” she answered with a teasing roll of her eyes. “But I guess you can’t really expect much else on a happening night like this in Newport.” she added with a chuckle.

It took everything in Daniela not to rip open the door of the bar as she all but stomped into the nearly empty establishment. She thought she’d be detached to the fact that her mother was tied up in another, “deal”, so to speak but clearly it bothered the brunette more than she let on. The young woman sat herself down at the bar before ordering a glass of whiskey and seeing as how it was only five-o-clock, the bartender gave her a weird look before tending to her order. Once her glass was in front of her, she wasted no time in downing the entire thing in one go, pausing to wince at the taste before beckoning for another. She could feel a handful of eyes on her and, knowing Daniela, she wasn’t one to let it go unnoticed.
“Oh please, like you’ve never needed something strong in the middle of the day, why else would you be here?”
“Oh believe me, I am the last one to judge.” Jasmine quickly offered as she turned her body on the stool she was sitting on to face the brunette next to her. “I start work in a couple hours, so I’m getting a couple drinks in to brace myself for that.” she explained with a shrug, before raising her glass to her lips. “Rough day?” she asked casually. Jasmine was totally prepared to give the newcomer space if she needed it, but she was also very happy to be a listening ear if the pretty female wanted it.

There were perks that came with being the owner to a business, and one of them was deciding her own working hours. Plus, there was really a standard working hours at a funeral home anyway. While Ava got up bright and early, she ran a few small errands around town to kill time to beat the morning rush before she got her caffeine fix for the day. When it finally hit ten o’clock, although already feeling like the morning was dragged, she finally made her way to the local café and ordered her Americano and bagel to go. While juggling between her bags and hot drink in her hand, a passerby came storming into her, causing her to knock her food order out of her hand. Especially by this time of the day, the brunette was growing irritated without caffeine or food in her system. It also didn’t help that the stranger just left without an apology. “Seriously?” She said incredulously at the man, but he was far from earshot by now. Crouching down to gather the wasted food, the words came flooding out of her lips, mainly to herself but loud enough for passerby to hear. “Asshole. Mondays are just full of them in this town.”
Mondays were kind of Jasmine’s weekend. Obviously, in her line of work, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays were her busiest nights. So she got to take Mondays off. And thankfully, her job at the Balboa Island Resort didn’t need her on Mondays either. She usually liked to take it easy, let herself wake up slowly, and then enjoy a casual coffee at her favorite cafe. She was in the process of doing so when she saw one of her most favorite people walk in. By the time she’d packed up her coffee and grabbed her bag, Ava was already heading out of the coffee shop. Just as Jasmine was about to call out to her friend, she saw a man bump into her causing her to spill her purchases. Jasmine rushed over, grabbing a hand full of napkins on the way. “What a jerk!” she grumbled as she handed Ava a few napkins to clean herself up with, while she bent down to pick up the rest of the mess. “I’m sorry, Ava.” she said when she finally stood up, moving to throw away the mess of napkins and spilled food. “But this worked out in my favor, now I get to buy you a replacement breakfast!” she offered with a grin.
