I'm In Trouble Deep || Jarricity
Farren was tempted to check the inscription for herself but she suddenly hated the idea of taking the ring off her finger even for a second. She’d take his word for it. It wasn’t fancy like the jewelry from the Capitol and her own district but, somehow, that made it better. The band was hard and simple but she caught a fraction of her own reflection among the dimly shining gold and she saw an entirely new person. I love you. It wasn’t the first time Jaxon had said those words but it was a first for Farren when she automatically opened her mouth, feeling the need to say them back. She let him finish speaking instead. If it wasn’t for his hold, she might have collapsed back against the pillow. “Yes,” she whispered. It was her honest answer and her real desire was just to be with him in every possible way for as long as she could. “I want to,” she added with more emphasis. There was an unspoken objection that only became apparent when she began to shake in his arms. Her gasp revealed the only secret she had left- the one that she was most ashamed of. “I’m scared,” she whimpered, hating herself for ruining what was essentially the perfect moment: the only time she’d felt so safe and loved.
"Aww," Jaxon let out as he began to feel her shake when he heard her whimper, I'm sorry. "It's going to all be okay, I'm not going anywhere." He promised her. It would take a lot more than a nurse, or even Torin with his sword to get Jaxon to leave Farren's side. "Just like our first...um..date? I guess," Jaxon laughed as he recalled the first time he brought her to the infirmary. "I gotta stop putting you in the infirmary, but hey, Love hurts," he laughed again trying to keep the humor up. Keeping her happy and distracted would take her worries away. But his were growing strong in the back of his head. He knew Farren and the baby would probably not survive the games. The numbers that have been shown to him by his trainer saying that Jaxon was the favorite to win this year and Farren was to die, ironically last. Jaxon knew at one point he would have to pick between his own life and Farren's. He looked at her now, he tried smiling warm to her only to keep her strong by showing his strength. She depended on him. So much more than he would ever understand. Jaxon was always used to being alone and he intended to die that way. He just never thought he would find who he wanted to spend his life with. If the moment ever came Jaxon knew he would have to kill his fiance and their future child, for their own sake, out of love. It would destroy him years to come but he knew she would never survive a single mom with the guilt of her fiance's death on her hands. He wouldn't force that fate on his worst enemy so definitely not his best friend, and the love of his life.
