Tips for Apex (From a loser)
If you're playing recon, USE THE RECON BEACONS! It costs you nothing and really helps with positioning
Speaking of positioning, keep in mind where you are in the ring. Don't wait until the last minute to move, find the best position and take it. Priorities include high ground, cover, buildings, and edges of the ring where it doesn't close far
Get good at all the guns! Try different combos and keep a mid range option open. Even just carrying a 3x or 2-4x optic in your backpack to switch on to an AR or choice can really be a game changer. Combos I wouldn't necessarily recommend would be R99 & shotgun or sniper and 30-30 / G7, keep your range varied
Don't try to use zoning ults like damage ults. Even though Gibby, Bangalore, and Caustic have a high damage potential in their ult, don't count on it. Use the ability to make enemies forfeit favorable positioning or to break them up. These can be particularly useful to third party a squad before they have the chance to heal
MOVEMENT! One of the tricks I use when I have to heal mid fight is to pop a shield battery while sliding down a hill. This allows you to duck out of combat, heal, and reposition for better chance at survival
You dont have to engage. Just because you see enemies doesn't mean you have to fight them. Take into account your teams health, the ring timer, and your position. Sometimes it's better just to let them go
Use the ping system. Especially if you're not using voice chat, ping where you're going, positional suggestions, loot, enemies, ect. Don't peel off and expect them to follow you if you never say where to go
Just because we have a legend who specializes in grenades doesn't mean you can't use them. Stick arc stars to rezzing enemies, block off doors, blow up fox holes, push people out from behind cover, GET CREATIVE
Dont be afraid to swap guns. Of you're having an ammo shortage, or if both your teammates are using the same type of ammo, swap out. I recommend practicing with all of the ARs so that you can use a functionally similar weapon without squabbling over the same type of ammo
If it's safe to go for a rez, pick up your teammates before you loot, it's just polite
If you get thirsted in the middle of a fight, your teammates may need to borrow stuff from your deathbox during the fight. These items should be returned after you get respawned, but it's not a crime if they swap their broken shield for your full one during a battle
