About the title, i wont tell you exactly why i chose it, but let's just say younger me was part of one of the most hated fandoms on internet, and that's all im gonna say.
The door closed with a slight loud noise, as the class loved homeroom teacher positioned herself at the center of the blackboard, smiling cheerfully before taking a good look at the classroom, seeing all her sweet and talented students all there, except for-
Yukizome sighed, looking down and resting her hand on her forehead for a brief moment, before looking towards around the classroom again.
- Ah, of course....
Her most troubling student, Jay Scarecrow, was skipping class again, a typical scenario that happens cerca twice a week, their attendance at class was poor, the teacher could already feel a migraine building up at the sides of her head, they were very sweet, but they were just too much sometimes.
After calming herself down and getting back to her cheerful state, she looked back at her students with a smile, before asking with a gentle tone.
- Everyone, would one of you be kind enough to try and find where Mr Scarecrow is and bring them back to the classroom?
Some students sighed, while others groaned annoyedly, while two students eyed eachother.
- I already brought them back last time! No fair! Its your turn now!
The pink-haired boy groaned in slight irritation, his shark teeth clenching as he gazed annoyedly towards the spiky-haired girl sitting next to him.
- Wah! Ibuki didnt even say anything-!
One of the students stands up from his chair, calmly walking towards the door before giving the teacher a calm smile, not a hint of annoyance on his face.
- Ah, please, don't worry everyone. Allow me to find them, just keep doing your best....
He stepped out of the classroom, gently closing the door behind him and walking carelessly across the hallways, before noticing the well-known figure of the troublemaker leaning back against a wall, discussing with a hall monitor, their bored expression is noticeable as they are forced to hear the impositive voice of the monitor echo through their ears.
- Listen, you know very well that headphones along wirh the modification of the school's uniform are strictly prohibited and- This is pointless, just go back to your classroom. You're already late!
The hall monitor's tolerance was clearly on the last straw, he took a deep breath before speaking with a now much more enraged voice tone.
The blue-haired student puffed, before rolling their eyes with a annoyed expression, speaking sarcastically.
- Look, im already wearing the jacket! Isnt it enough!? Of course it isnt for you guys.... And c'mon- can't i least listen to music? God, you all are so lame!
- Either you cooperate right now or-
- Or what? Ya gonna send me to detention? Go ahead. I don't have to listen to your bullshit!
The hall monitor clenched his teeth before pointing to the other end of the hall
- That's it. Detention. Now.
The blue-haired student sticked out their tongue in arrogant mockery before flipping the monitor off and walking away to detention without a care in the world.
- Fuck you, asshole.
Nagito look at the scene bewildered, did Jay just showed a middle finger to a school authority? They really deserved their title of Ultimate rebel, they were a force of nature, going by their own rules, what a incredible display of rulebreaking, even if Nagito didnt agree with Scarecrow's agressiveness, he did respect and honestly adored their rebellious ways.
After the hall monitor walked away, Nagito slowly and carefully made his way to the detention room, he looked through the window, Jay was sitting down with a pen on their hand, scribbling on a table, Nagito felt his heart skip a beat, Scarecrow looked so concentrated, so at ease, at peace, a rare display, since Komaeda was used to seeing his crush act arrogant and distant, his hands trembled as he slowly gripped the doorknob, wondering if he should open the door, or just... Keep looking at their peaceful hope from a safe distance, if he opened the door, if he dared talk to Jay, he would just waste their precious time with his meaningless nonsense, he was better off just... Staring from the distance, he didnt deserve to talk to them, to be in their hopeful presence.
But somehow, by pure chance, Jay suddently stared back at him. Just his luck, just when he was about to back down and watch from the sidelines... Would he look creepy if he didnt open the door? Probably. Even as his thoughts told him to not open the door, his body forced itself to open the door.
The door opened slowly, letting out a piercing noise echo throughout the room, Komaeda stepped in, not daring to look Jay in the eyes, approaching as if he was trying to get near a wild animal, before Jay's childish voice stopped him in his tracks.
- What do ya want?
Jay didnt look up at him, they kept drawing like he wasnt even there. Nagito gulped. They sounded mad.
- Hello Senpai... I hope you don't mind me intruding... Yukizome Sensei told me to get you... Back to class.
The blue-haired boy finally looked at Nagito, their brown eyes narrowing once they gaze at Komaeda's green-gray eyes, Jay tilted their head, like they were thinking.
- Well, that's too bad, im stuck here so... You'll have to wait.
Nagito looked at the table, there was a cute kitten scribbled on the hard wood
- That's a.... Cute cat, Senpai... Are you a artist as well?
Jay snickered, looking away with a slightly arrogant grin, resting a hand on their cheek
- i wouldnt say artist... But maybe... I just like drawing some stuff... Kits are cool...
Nagito smiled widely, of course.... Someone like them was bound to have all types of abilities, he didn't fail to notice the irony, the Ultimate Rebel, drawing cute little kittens on the first opportunity they had... It was... Refreshing.
- Ah, of course, i understand, Senpai... Someone like you was bound to have many other abilities, art is a delectable one! You truly are amazing...
Nagito's smile was as sweet as it could be, hiding a extreme amount of obsession behind it
Jay quickly and suddently got up from their chair, waling up to Nagito with a firm posture, they walked until they were standing right in front of him, Scarecrow had a almost intimidating posture, like they were trying to scare him off, Jay was considerably shorter than him, but Jay acted almost like they were taller than him.
- I don't get'cha... Why do you see me in such a high pedestal huh? Why do you... Care so much bout me?
Nagito gulped, looking down at them nervously, biting his lip
- Senpai... I don't really get what you're saying-
Jay tilted their head, getting even closer to him, grinning smugly
- You're a good student Komaeda, You're a total goody-two-shoes, why are ya so interested in someone like me? Either ya want something or.... You're some kind of masochist.
Nagito blushed, getting even more nervous by the second, his hands opened and closed, but he standed still, not daring to move.
- I-i don't want anything really! I just... Want to see your hope shine brighter Senpai! I want to be able to see all you're able to do... That's my only purpose!
Jay grins, tilting their head even further, making Komaeda even more nervous.
- Then you're a masochist, simple as that.
Nagito's face burned. What were they even talking about? Masochism? How could they talk so carelessly about something like that? Jay really had no shame. Before Nagito could even say something, Jay gave him a sweet grin and patted his back
- All im sayin' is... If you keep gettin close to me like this.. You'll be in trouble. It's not like i mind your company or anything but.... Ya should be careful round' a delinquent... Yknow?
Nagito gulped, he wasnt scared of Jay, not in the slightest. They were a symbol of hope to him. The brightest one. Komaeda took a step closer, trembling.
- I... I don't fear you, Senpai. No matter how much you try to push me off... I... I know that you wont hurt me!
Jay finally backed down slowly, their expression switched from smug, to confused, to amused.
- Is that so? You really are a coarageous one, Komaeda. Then....
Jay quickly sat on top of a random wodden table in the empty room with a grin.

OHHHHH THANK YOU AMBER!, we like to have a school snack together! I like chocolate crossaints, but since Nagi dislikes sweets, he tends to eat more salty snacks, maybe a cheese filled crossaint from the bakery next to hopes peak? Or a onigiri? Or toast! He prefers toast over rice, Yeah!
And we like to skip class together, kiss and cuddle on the hidden spots of the campus while knowing that Yukizome-Sensei is looking for us.
