A Little Food For Thought In Regards To Whatās Going On In Our World Today
corpse putting on an everyday smile before the deathly routine of life
When I see the wrongs and atrocities that are so easily dished out among people today, makes me question myself, my humanity and the earth I live on.
To clarify; Iām in awe of people who are genuine and make that extra effort to make the world a better place. Whoever you are. People who do good usually arenāt the ones who are gushed about the most and so I want to show my deepest gratitude to everyone whoās true to their hearts and souls.
I first think back to my life, my surroundings and my experiences. I am forced to think of every single mistreatment I have ever witnessed that has pertained to either myself or to the people around me and the justices that have taken place thereafter. And I have to admit that the former is in abundance and the latter, a scarcity.
Basically what Iām saying is how many times have you or people you have witnessed been wronged in some form or manner and whatās been done about it or to put it bluntly, what have We done about it.
I can tell you now, the amount of times I have been wronged and have witnessed wrongs done upon othersā¦are countless. And what have I done about it? Not much Iām ashamed to admit.
stand and watch injustices without raising a finger of objection
When it came down to someone mistreating me in absolutely any form or manner, Iād stand up for myself and call them out on it. Thatās what happened most of the time. Though nowadays Iāll admit that Iām so fed up of finding myself in unnecessary situations where someone doesnāt treat me correctly and I have to call them out on it, that Iāve started letting a lot slip. Iām so tired of it that sometimes it feels easier to just leave them be. What good would it do; Iād think to myself?!
Though rightfully that isnāt t he right way to think. I never know who my words may have a positive impact on. So on reflection, I should mend that.
Now, when it came down to people around me being mistreated, as long as they werenāt family or close friendsā¦I wouldnāt interfere.
Why is that I ask myself?!
Because I was always scared of so called ārepercussionsā that might occur. So I remain a coward. I was scared that my boss might fire me if I called her out on her unacceptable behavior towards my co-worker when she screamed, shamed and fired her out of the blue and out in the open in front of everyone, without a care in the world to who might hear her or the life sheād just changed.
So I kept my mouth shut and watched my co-workers be mistreated in silence, as I feared for my own position. Whilst feeling guilty and utterly disgusted with what I was seeing and even more so at my inaction of doing anything about it.
Maybe thatās why I got what was coming to me a few months later at another job Iād just started. Now I donāt want to go into the details too much as I want this to be about people in every part of the globe who genuinely need help in the world and not about me.
wrist in a noose with censure sign above it
And so all Iāll say is that it is so terribly wrong of me not to speak/act up for anyone who needs it that I ended up experiencing what it was like being mistreated and no one coming to my aid. I was actually in such denial about it, hoping to remain optimistic until my friend told me just how wrong I was being treated compared to other co workers.
My eyes were forced openā¦and it carried on like that until they ālet me goā through no fault of mine. Iād have a hard time speaking about what happened and so Iāll leave that unsaid. Truth is words wouldnāt do the experience, justice.
Theyād even hired my replacement before I was even ālet goā and she was already there and Iād no idea I was even being let go until I heard co workers whispering about the new employee whoād be working in my position, as my head was buried in my work trying to get it done by the deadline. When they let me go they even admitted it was of no fault of mine, despite everything Iād gone through there, it was what the āmajority preferredā. And that was it. So much for that eh?!
Though nothing I have ever experienced can come close to other injustices that are going on around the world now.
People finding no safety, comfort and trust in their own homes among their family members.
People simply disappearing for speaking the truth or ānot following the norm and refusing to be āprogrammedā yes I said itā¦.the terminology that youād use for a computer is simply attributed to humans and simply thrown around in sentences like thereās nothing to it (check out this interview about Charles Manson if you donāt believe me).
200 Children going missing in Africa without a trace.
people shouting freedom as they run from a small cage to a bigger one then jump with joy
People starving and dying when we waste so much every day and thereās more than enough printed pieces of paper, āknown as moneyā, to go around.
People from every race all around the globe, suffering in different situations.
Where have the homeless people gone?
Why have they disappeared from the city centres and itās around the world not just a few countries?
Why was a lovely American couple who had started cooking and feeding the poor at a park in America, fined $1000 ā $2000 and banned from the park for good for doing so?
Why has it become something of a norm to see a dead body on the streets in parts of Jamaica as the gun situation in some parts have gotten way out of hand with even some youngsters having access to them?
Why are some people given sentences for drugĀ possessionĀ and others praised and madeĀ popularĀ for it?
Why does England give free medical and yet many people in America donāt get thatĀ privilege?
Why is a dying person in the Middle-East turned away from hospitals because they donāt have āinsuranceā or the right amount of āpaperā?
Why are both young (and in some cases, old) males and females being abused and takenĀ advantageĀ of whatever theirĀ situationĀ may be?
Why is a rich baby/person made out to be better than a poor one and a skinny one made out to be more beautiful, intelligent and accepted than someone bigger.
People being killed, arrested, jailed for years due to no fault of theirs.
Put on a uniform, wave a badge and papers with the face of the president/king/queen on it and that makes them God and immune to what āthe massesā can be accused of.
Many things that weāre exposed to that make us focus more on our primal desires and materialistic rubbish instead of striving to be better more sufficient and loving versions of ourselves.
Now this may not be everyone. It may not even be the majority. Itās still way too many to ignore.
cartoon of a boy seeing the circle of life that many adults miss
Ā We have to be vigilant about the way we allow ourselves and the people around us, to be treated. It needs to start at home. Then school. Then work and in all our daily interactions with others. Only then do we get to start having an impact on the people around us and help prevent the worldwide depravities thatĀ weāveĀ come to witness.
If we need electricity, what do we do? Does it appear in mid air or do we pay a bill and the company generates our electricity? The latter right.
If we need water, do we go to a well to fetch it or do we pay another bill and then the water company pumps water into our houses? Also for many of us, the latter correct?!
If we need food do we grow it in our gardens/farms or do we go to a market to buy it, paying yet another daily bill? Once again, for a lot of us, the latter am I right?!
When we need anything it is provided for us as long as weāre doing the acceptable labour to have a claim to it.
What if all of that were to go? What would we do?
Iāll tell you what weād do. Weād bond together and do whatās necessary to survive as weāve always done since the start of mankind.
Now having gotten used to living under a certain regime and way of life, weāre perfectly trained to āfollow the system and ārulesā no questions asked.
The reason why earlier Iād said that everything has to start at home, is because sometimes itās there where āwrongs/mistreatments/abuses and a whole number of unspeakable atrocities begin for some people. Imagine if we start sticking up for ourself and others thenā¦we would automatically know to stick up for strangers around us, too.
taking back power from the minority and giving it back to the majority
Ā Firstly we need to take BACK our humanity and love for each other that has so efficiently been psyched away from us.
Secondly we need to WAKE UP and STOP āpolitely askingā the very people committing the atrocities in the word to āgrow a heartā and STOP the wrongs theyāre doing.Ā There is no logic in that.
Thirdly, people who grab their phones and videos to record atrocities done in the world today arenāt truly helping.
Because the normal human response to a terrible situation should be to HELP. Not record some oneĀ elseāsĀ pain with technology. Even if the person is utterly helpless, the least they could do is lend a hand. A hug. A wet cloth on the personās feverish forehead. Even if theyāre dead, then to bury them or help the grieving family in any way possible even if you use only your tongue to offer words of comfort. A number of things.
For anyone who says, no but itās to make people aware of whatās going on.. it isnāt an excuse and it doesnātĀ change the situation nor help it when we all sit watching, exchanging pictures and videos without actually ādoing somethingā about it. Whatās worst, if anything it makes us subjective to whatās going on instead of seeing the big picture. Which is you must be aware of what you also Canāt see. If anything thatās whatās most important. Because thatās where lies the true evil that needs to be uprooted. Donāt be blind through āseeingā eyes. Donāt believe everything you hear/read in the media. There is nothing youāre exposed to, without a hidden agenda behind it. Period.
Now, if someoneās ill with an unknown virus or something, instead of helping them, we āquarantineā them with an āevery man for himselfā attitude. What happened to helping each other even if we hurt in the process?
Weāve been fed a fake sense of security that we must abide by or else everything will crumble to pieces. Not realising that thatās exactly whatās happening right now because of that mind set.
Now we have a world of people sharing grotesqueries and chatting, whining, acting out and fussing about it instead of actually DOING something about it.
This postĀ isnātĀ to bash anyone sharing and caring and trying to alert people to whatās going on in the world, not at all, itās to also open your eyes to whatās important. Which is doing something about it and that goes for me, too.
I feel scared just writing this. Iām scared to stick up for people because of the fear that my āway of lifeā may be snatched away from me at any second so I abide with the norm. I despise it. Itās a silent killer. Iām fed up of living this way. Some people live in hell while I get to live safely and comfortably. Itās sickening. I want to do something about it. I always tell myself that weād be invincible if we bond as a race and break this form of complacency and adaptation to seeing yet doing nothing about the unacceptable monstrosities that happen all around us.
History always repeats itself simply because we never truly learn from it.
If a number of powerful people can get almost the whole world to think a certain way and believe certain things, then no one will question them when they do anything unacceptable.
So if billions of people have been prepped and prepared to turn their heads to wrongs happening in the world, homes and work places, when major wrongs are committed, the million or two who fight back by fussing and holding slogans donāt pose a real threat to them nor will it hinder them in any way and they know it.
What is feared is if billions of people screw their heads on right and really open their eyes realising that itĀ isnātĀ the governments theyāre begging to make a difference (who are the ones backing the people committing the atrocities, no less) who will actually make a difference, but THEM by actually DOING something about it.
That is why a single individual with an open mind and uncovered eyes poses more of a threat to them than millions of people who refuse to truly open their eyes. And that is why they are disposed of quicker than you can say Jack Robinson. And the people who speak the truth are fully aware that it comes at the cost of their lives.
Aaron Russo, JFK, Bob Marley, Malcolm X, Michael Jackson, and the countless number of journalists who are deemed āexpendableā as well as any individual brave enough to speak and act on the truth no matter the cost.
People likeĀ Russell BrandĀ (Katy Perrysā Ex husband) who has started seeing and speaking the truth.
Thatās just mentioning a handful of people without coming close to just how many. Since when has a life been the property of powerful people that they can do with as they wish to, with no one to answer to? If we answer to them, who holds them accountable?
The thing is that in the end, they Do have to answer for every single act their hands and tongues put forth on earth. As do all of us.
If the media keeps your eyes focused on one place it, eradicates the probability of you looking where it matters. If youāre watching a show, youāre too preoccupied with the entertainment to know, care or worry about whatās going on backstage. Out of Sight, Out of Mind.
I hear many crying about war. Until I hear those same voices crying for every single soul on this earth who is being mistreated, in whichever corner of the globe they may be, than I have a hard time acting selfĀ righteous without actually making a difference of any sortĀ .
Thatās how wars come into effect. By teaching us to ignore the small so that by the time the big injustices happen, a few may start feeling bad about it. Thatās all. No biggie right?! Wrong. It is a problem.
āI want to admit something to you. I used to believe that a kind of āpeopleā were āevilā. And ironically I once mentioned to a friend that ātheyā were evil and she blatantly told me that I was wrong. And I looked at her with huge āI canāt believe you just said that and believe that ā eyes. I absolutely refused to believe it and so I just figured that weād āagree to disagreeā and left it at that.
Until later on when I started learning more about ālife and peopleā I realised that what I so called ābelievedā was utter nonsense. Actually, I can hardly believe I used to believe that! How is it possible when it made NO SENSE! I mean how could I think a type of āpeopleā who eat, drink, pee, and live like I do could be āevilā?! Since then I had to realise how ābrainwashedā I was and had to completely āresetā my mind in other words. An individual/individuals doesnāt/donāt represent a ārace/peopleā.
If there are billions of people on earth, and cameras catch a few thousandā¦that is hardly a fraction of the majority. So to base anything I believe on that literally makes no sense. You never know until you āexperienceā. Thatās why someone who has conditioned them-self and refuses to actually ālistenā to anything that goes against that belief, will forever āremain that wayā. Unless they choose to change it. Like me and my silly beliefs about a whole race of people. I feel really bad about it. How I could have allowed myself to be brainwashed and think something so āillogicalā. Shame on me. I hope that doesnāt happen to me ever again.
My mind and heart needs to remain āopenā based on ālifeā and not only what I āseeā.
The scale of just how terrible some things are and exactly whatās going on behind closed curtains, is unfathomable to the normal individualsā mind.Ā Thatās why itās imperative that every single human being realises that theyĀ arenātĀ normal/ordinary but exquisitely extraordinary.
Actions speak louder than words.
The days of words and sitting ātightā are gone.
The time has come to āActā.
Sometimes I wake up and remember the kind of world I live in today and wish IĀ hadnātĀ awoken. Then I usually have to remind myself how much good still exists in the world, too. The āgoodā is breathtaking, makes me want to cry of happiness and is refreshing to come across.
Everyone has a different opinion and understanding of what goes on and how they handle it. Iām not yet offering a solution to our problems. I am offering you a step closer to that solution. Something to think about. To open your eyes about. Itās when thatās done that something fascinating will eventually happen.
We all have a daily raging war that we fight within ourselves despite where we come from or what our beliefs are. This isnāt about governments, people in power, people of various religions or backgrounds but about āanyoneā who takes pleasure in others pain, whoever/wherever they may be and whatās ādone about itā.
Whether you agree or not, at least you read my words and itās up to you to come to your own conclusion about them. This is my general analysis.Ā IāveĀ been wanting to write a post like this for a long time now, fear kept getting the best of me.
Even while writing this I continued stopping, hesitating and wondering whether I should really carry on with it or not. And these are only words. So imagine actions. Yes, I too need to find my courage.
Itās one thing to talk the talk, can we walk the walk?
Update: 12/08/14: Iāve gone back to this post, tweaking things here and there because itās important that I say what I need to correctly and not just in the āmomentā. Iām human and take responsibility for anything that may be said āout of contextā. What I have mentioned above, only mentions a few, and in no way paints a whole picture of the countries or its people. Itās to give voice to the few wrongs that does go down in the world that we may remain silent to.
For this post Iāll be closing comments on it, simply because politics is such a diverse subject with each entitled to their own opinion. I didnāt write this for me to debate it, I wrote it to be genuinely thought about or considered. Share if you find truth in my words. Feel free to send me a message on my ācontact meā page if you like and Iāll get back to you.
Jayās Tidbit: People are different and have different opinions and ways of doing things. I have found that though I may not agree with every single thing on what I enjoy about the content my favourite writers write, I respect their opinions on it whatever they may be. Live and Let Live. I have learnt more than I can say from listening to others whether I agree on everything they say or not. More then often thereās a lot of wisdom behind a lot of what is said. Even from the most unlikely sources.
