Jazmin was born and raised in Aurora Bay. However, she had to raise herself. It appears her parents’ jobs and lives were more important than her. She was the only child too, so she had to teach herself everything. When her parents were around, they would end up bickering with each other and then storming off. There was a lot of yelling in her house that she learned to ignore. Little did she know it was something that she would inherit.
It's not that her parents were bad parents, but they weren’t there for the little or big things. She had always understood that they had moved to the states to build a better life for her, but how she wished her parents would’ve showed up physically and emotionally.
The good thing about her parents not being around was that they put her in different hobbies. Swimming, soccer, softball, but it was the dance classes that won her over. She knew exactly who she wanted to be the moment her first dance class was over. She loved letting the music take over her body with different movements whether it was sharp, slow, fast or rough. It was hip hop that meant the world to her.
From then on, she never missed a dance class. She kept her grades up in high school so she could be on the drill team. When she turned 18, she packed up her car and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dancing dream. She spent the first year living in her car while she worked as a server to save money for an apartment while taking hip hop classes too. She put in hours of hard work at the local rec center until they offered her to teach her own class.
By the time she was 21, she was dancing in music videos. It wasn’t long before she became what they called them in the 2000s, a video vixen too. This inspired her to start dancing in heels. And in LA, when you know someone, they know someone who knows someone and somehow you end up being able to teach your own hip hop and heel classes.
It has been so long since she’s been in Aurora Bay that she doesn't recognize it as home anymore. However, moving back is best for now. Her reputation has taken a hard hit due to her demeanor. Something she knows she needs to work on away from LA. She’s hoping that hiding will make everything go away although deep down she knows that won’t be. She’s ready to make some changes even if it’s a tough road.
