🚨 Semi-lethal spoilers for A Canticle for Leibowitz.

"A Canticle for Leibowitz" is a 1959 short story cycle about a sect of Catholic monks whose role is to preserve relics of knowledge in the nuclear apocalypse (but by doing so also doom the future yadda yadda). In the third story in the collection/cycle there is a older woman with a six legged dog. She is an unsettling figure and is petitioning the head of this order of monks to baptise her second head (did I mention this occurs post nuclear apocalypse). However, a second nuclear crisis occurs and in the blast the woman appears to die and a new, young, feral, voice is heard speaking from the head. While the world falls to ruins again, this new being skips forth.

So when I read this part I was like "Oh Cathoic-vibes apocalypse AND a six legged dog? Is this a Reference?" Anyone else able to comment?

For a well read Catholic sci-fi writer, A Canticle for Leibowitz doesn't seem impossible for Tazmuir.

Laying on the floor trying to decide whether I am capable of a gluten free diet. No official diagnoses but I have suspected celiac disease for a long time. Back when I worked at the gym, I tried a gluten free diet as part of a competition for about 2 months and the results were really good. The weight loss meant nothing compared to basically just never feeling bloated and gassy.

I need to try again anyways. Which sucks because I just bought a lot of pierogies...

I just finished seeing The Odyssey. Spoilers ahead maybe? Can you spoil the Odyssey?

It was pretty uninspiring. I've read way better fan fiction (I have read The Odyssey. This script sucked balls). Movie felt like it was just a pay cheque. Wondering if that script was made by AI and than edited by humans. These characters have no life. They all made me feel nothing at all. What have they done to Athena? Zendaya, I love you but you got shafted. I didn't even know you were in the movie.

It occurred to me that Lord of the Rings was shot better/written better. Just you get thinking about a story about a journey like LOTR and a lot of people will argue they left a lot out but it made up for it in other ways. I think they did a good job. Than you take The Odyssey. A story about THE journey. And they drop the fucking ball. There was never any way to tell this story in 3 hours.
