2 A.M. at the Cat’s Pajamas~ Marie-Helene Bertino
2 A.M. at the Cat's Pajamas is a novel about a little girl, a young school teacher, and a middle aged bar owner. It's a riveting story about the troubles of this telling world. Madeleine Altimari is a nine year old aspiring jazz singer. Her mother has just recently passed away, and Madeleine is quite lost. Sarina Greene is a young fifth grade teacher, who had recently had her heart broken. Lorca is the owner of legendary jazz club, the Cat's Pajamas. He barely has enough money to keep the club going, and his wife has left him. Three completely unrelated people find themselves not so different at all.
I finished this book in 3 days, I could barely put it down. The way the author writes, and her characters are compelling. I loved the character of Madeleine, and unfortunately reminds me of how I was when I was nine years old. I definitely recommend this to anybody, and is certainly worth the read.
