This project is exploring the social commentaries of New York. Looking at poetry from the 1950’s Beat Era and more contemporary sources from underground American hip-hop in the early 2000’s. Cutting and mixing them up to see the contrasts and similarities in their word play, themes and what they are telling us about the state of America then and now.
