The town of Lethe has been a long-standing testament to the spirit and determination of the people who established it when it was nothing more than flora, fauna, and the open sky. Tucked against the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, the town is known for being an idyllic stop for many of the touring explorers of the beautiful, teeming mountains. Not only is the lovely town of Lethe renowned for its hospitality businesses, but it also boasts of having some of the most delicious, unbuckle-your-belt type of eateries, restaurants, and bistros. Be sure, though, to tuck yourself in carefully at night, should you be guided by your whims to stay for the evening. If you notice that the locals sequester themselves in at night, pay it no mind. Simply make sure to lock your doors, shut your windows, and if you happen to hear someone call your name — no you didn’t.

Ruby Argyris (Ryan Terhune) and William Downing (Benedict Cumberbatch) are looking for four individuals to complete their plot. Note that William has not yet been apped and Ruby is apped but not posted yet as they are awaiting these individuals to complete their story, but applications will be swift once roles are filled.

This plot is - to put it simply - an interlocking web of desire, loyalty, and betrayal in which every character’s secret desire collides with another character’s, creating a domino effect of tension. An arranged marriage between Ruby Argyris and William Downing is the catalyst for the plot to begin, but the true drama lies in the interpersonal relationships between the characters. These include the following details:

Ruby Argyris was raised to be married off to someone who would raise her family status.

Percival Sandow is in love with Ruby; her mother, Acantha, does not approve.

Acantha started arrangements for Ruby to marry William Downing.

Acantha has fallen for William, and is now reconsidering her stance.

Ruby wants to marry William as she sees him as a means of escaping.

Ruby is unaware of her mother’s or Percival’s feelings.

William is fond of Elizabeth Sandow, who happens to be Percival’s sister.

William hasn’t made a move on Elizabeth as Percival is his good friend.

Elizabeth is interested in William but plays it off because of Percival

Elizabeth is interested in Luis Martinez, he is bisexual or gay.

Luis is interested in Percival, but Percival is straight.

While some key notes about characters involved in this plot are set up, they are really very open as we have only stated information that suits the plot rather than fully fleshing out the characters, we’d like to build them with people who are interested. In short, the characters required are the following:

Wide Awake - an original fantasy roleplay

Spring is delayed, the sun in Xyria remains dark and non-nourishing, starving lives and magic across Xyria. The first sign of withering magic on the magical nation came in small, nearly uninspiring incidents: a couple of expiring potions here, several failing spells there, failing broomsticks from the sky wasn’t exactly a common occurrence, though it could be related to a couple of bad spells going about. Then came a mortal cruise ship crash landed into the magic nation, bringing with it humans who had only encountered magic through the words of fictions and technologies that threaten to expose magic to the world. Could the Xyrian authorities cast aside their differences in the face of disaster to preserve their secret existence in the world?

Once, a king of Carcosa lost everything in his grief. His son parted from the life due to an illness. In a desperate attempt to absolve his own emotion, he sought to bring life back itself. Driven to madness by the concept, his research — while foolish — worked. The consequence of the undead brought one fatal truth: to bring back the dead is to also open the door for something else. What came through that door was an unspeakable horror. An entity older than the world itself. A Nightmare. In the coming months, old magic bled through the lands, inciting a blight that tore through the Blunders. Whether this is recorded history or a cautionary tale is unclear. Most would prefer these stories to remain the myths they are. To the lineages following the four crowns, it is very, very real.
