video stores still exist in the form of public libraries btw <3
āHereās an ai overview ā ā
Hey yall I just wanted to come on here and bring some attention to whatās happening at the detention center (really a concentration camp) Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey. There is a hunger strike going on right now to protest the abhorrent conditions within the camp (allegations of torture, maggots and other bugs in the food, etc) and protests happening outside the camp. ICE is not allowing any politicians to come in (as is their right) to see the conditions of the camp. I would urge yall to do your own research, but if you want videos of some people who are actually there, here are some tik tok accounts you can go follow: @ bethanyquilter/ @ whoiskingtrivv/ @ Status Coup News/ @ L.A. TACO
And here is a video explaining whatās going on in more detail than I provided.
With everything else going on in the world, it can be hard to keep up with stuff going on at home, but ICE is still out here terrorizing innocent people. We must keep our eyes on them, and keep fighting.
Feel free to add more sources or info to this post, should you have any.
I found this linktree here that has a master list of ways to help the detainees inside Delaney Hall: https://linktr.ee/SupportOurFamilies
Please support immigrant families by donating to the GoFundMe's below and purchasing supplies via Amazon Wishlist to support detainee visito
I have heard that protestors outside need medical supplies, but I canāt find the best way to provide that if you are not nearby.
their needs are changing rapidly, they mostly need Sudecon wipes and gas masks, last I heard, but the only way is to bring them directly there. for the most part they are asking people to join them there and hold the line, if possible. next best thing is to donate and call NJ reps to demand an end to the detention and torture!

text: [ āSome of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we canāt do things weāve been doing for 5000 years.ā ]
And they're absolutely specifically pushing it, make no mistake. It's not just a matter of "it's there, it's convenient, so people are going to take the path of the least resistance", but it is a legitimate and concerted effort on the part of these companies to get people to outsource all these things to their models.
They're preying on insecurities to do it. Yes, you can write an essay - but can you write a good essay, they ask you. Do you not want to improve your output? Do you not want people to think of you as competent and very clever? Why go through the mortifying process of failing and failing and failing until you succeed if you can just skip the "learning" part of doing, and simply generate a ready-made product?
I'm preaching to the choir here obviously but it's a concerning thing to witness nonetheless. My kid is 6 next week and I've been teaching her that failing at things is morally neutral and in fact necessary even before the advent of AI, but it's becoming ever more important that we teach the kids that criticism and failure and discomfort aren't necessarily bad things, but just a part of the growth process.
AI companies are heavily invested in making themselves relevant. They want people to believe they can't do the things they have done unaided before and make them become reliant on the AI models, so the AI models' existence is artificially justified.
I don't have time for tumblr discourse they're calling the very hungry caterpillar degenerate art over on twitter
good art is when something looks like real life, the more real it looks the more better the art. abstracted figures give my trad children nightmares, one time they were exposed to cubism and couldn't go outside for a week
Huh fascinating, I wonder what the fash have against Eric Carle? I wonder what he might have said about his life, and influences, and early experiences that makes them say heās part of an āinsalubrious cultureā?
Franz Marc (1880-1916) was a German painter and printmaker, one of the key figures of the German Expressionist movement.

Why do I wear a mask?
A lot of people may see me wearing my mask in public and think: Sheās paranoid. Sheās too extreme. COVID is over, right? Why are you still wearing a mask?
To that, I think: I donāt think you are cautious enough. COVID is not over, the people in power just wanted to get back to ānormal,ā whatever that means, no matter the cost. Even if it costs lives.
And why am I still wearing a mask?
For a lot of reasons.
Obviously, and primarily, to protect myself and my community from viral and contagious diseases.
But I also found that I like wearing masks.
Iām sensitive to smell. And being able to use a public bathroom without having to smell it? Elite, honestly.
I feel better, physically and emotionally, when I wear a mask. It eases a lot of anxiety.
Yes, I go to restaurants. And coffee shops. But unless Iām eating, Iām wearing a mask. And when the weather is nice, I far prefer eating outside.
Yes, I go to events. The library, the museum. I love going to concerts. But I wear a mask. And I feel so much better for it.
I even travel. And believe me, wearing a mask to filter that dry, recycled airplane air has done wonders for comfort.
Wearing a mask does not stop me from enjoying my life. In fact, it allows me to do so.
Wearing a mask has become so instinctual, that now I feel uncomfortable in public without one.
Fun fact: I have not been sick in nearly five years. Iāll still knock on wood to keep that up, but consistently wearing my mask is what accomplished that.

A sign near the Alex Pretti Memorial that reads: āāDear Minnesota, I know you are going through a lot. I just want to say, KEEP FIGHTING!!! Donāt let ICE overcome us! DO NOT LET OUR NEIGHBORS FALL!!! DONāT GIVE UP!!!! Love, anonymous kid who says donāt give up!ā On January 24, 2026, federal immigration agents fatally shot 37-year-old Alex Pretti during Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. Pretti, an intensive care nurse at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, was killed during an encounter connected to large-scale federal immigration enforcement operations taking place across the Twin Cities. Video recorded by bystanders and witnesses at the scene quickly circulated online and contradicted portions of the initial federal account of the shooting, leading to public outrage and demands for the release of additional evidence. Video showed that Pretti was armed and was shot and killed an after he was disarmed. Prettiās death sparked days of protests, marches, and confrontations with law enforcement in Minneapolis as demonstrators condemned the federal operation and called for accountability. The shooting became a major flashpoint in ongoing national debates over immigration enforcement, federal policing powers, and the use of force during domestic operations. As of this writing, no one has been held responsible for the killing.
