One of the most motivating and humbling experiences I've had, was attending the Anniversary Commemoration on Kilo Pier. Meeting heroes who survived this attack 75 years ago, then fought on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and all over the island hopping campaigns. Hearing their experiences of the attack, and meeting a Marine Corporal who watched the Oklahoma list and take 429 Sailors and Marines down with her. Others, how they assisted in defending Pearl Harbor that day. Or stories of their friends and how they witnessed why their friend earned their Medal of honor. I only met six of the survivors and heard their stories, but will never forget any of them.
