Because what you see outwardly is an illusion. Inwardly is where the truth originates--because inwardly, is where your spiritual soul resides, which connects to your energy mind, which connects you to the original source flow of creation--God--and as such, generates (or manifests) what you see outwardly. Your inward perception first forms the outwardly conclusion. You only know an apple is red because you were first taught what the color red is. Your inward knowledge of the color red allowed you to form the pre-perspective of understanding that an apple is red before seeing the apple. Once you see the apple, your mind concludes the apple is red and because the apple is red, you deem it to be apple. So, outwardly perception of apple was first formed by inwardly perception of knowledge of apple. Without the inward perception of what an apple is, you would never know what an apple is, despite the apple still existing. Without the inward perception being the originator of the balance between inward and outward perception, one would never know anything exists. It's the paradox of creation. What came first, love or hate, light or dark, good or bad? What if neither came first, but rather, existed simultaneously as equally contributing fragments of the whole? Factions of the entirety. For one to exist the other must exist--and vice versa. Because without the harmonious balance of both existing, nothing could exist. It's like that old question, which came first--the chicken or the egg?
