In 2 weeks, The Sycamore makes another European stop, this time in Peja, Kosovo at Anibar, in the Experimental program.
LA Connection 7/28/26 show poster, 2026
Digital poster commissioned for Sound of... Presents' showcase concert at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood, California, featuring Ruxandra, Gracie Martin, James Meder, and Scott of the Andes.
Photoshop
Recent poster commission for a show next month; a reminder that I'm usually available to do such things!
Next week, my work returns to Žilina, Slovakia with a screening of The Sycamore at Fest Anča, where I last screened Out of Pasture in 2023. I can't be there again, but maybe you will? 🌳
Alas! The Sycamore is screening in LA again as part of CUT V, from The Good Night Ladies, and it's screening at freakin' Zebulon to close the month. I'll be there, and if you're local, show up and watch some cool films!
Feels very cool to me, considering the amount of memorable concerts I've seen at this venue. It's a win in more ways than you'd know.
C'est comme ça… The Sycamore's European tour continues, this time in Switzerland, and I once again can't be there. But if you find yourself at Festival du Film d'Animation de Savigny on May 30, you can see the film yourself. 🌳
As the picture says, if you have any Brazey memories you would like to share: written, photo, video, etc, Please send them to [email protected] before the end of the month and i will do my best to include them in the documentary.
Any pieces made for The Brazey Exchange (or prior iterations) are already set to be included with the usernames or names I have on file from time of exchange. If you have participated and wish to be credited differently, or even excluded, please let me know as well.
Thank you! C :)c
Get at Brazey while you can, please!
Zurück nach Berlin. While I can't be there myself this year, The Sycamore will be representing me at Pictoplasma Berlin on May 7th. Say hallo to the hooded crows for me, bitte. 🍃
Coyote Crossing - "Coyote Rescues Hawk" segment, 2026
A segment from the PBS So-Cal-produced documentary, Coyote Crossing, featuring Alan Salazar retelling the Chumash story, "Coyote Rescues Hawk", directed by Moses Norton and Georg Kallert, and animated by me, made to emulate Chumash rock art.
Watch the full documentary on PBS.
Rebelle, Photography, After Effects
First TV work in 3 years. First time using Rebelle to animate. First time on a documentary set, as I got to go on the shoot and ask Alan questions that helped influence my work, as well as received traditional materials from Mona Lewis, who illustrated Alan's book re-telling of this story. A really cool opportunity, and glad to contribute to PBS' wide free and educational catalog.
"You're about to enter Milwaukee."
The Sycamore will be popping back stateside next week at the Milwaukee Underground Film Festival on May 1st. Catch it if you can, as it heads back to Europe again afterwards. ☀️
I have transferred all my digital comic works to jareddweiss.itch.io
The Gunkroad links will remain active until I meet their ransom threshold they have on my earnings, I get paid, and then dump them.
Thanks for any support.
Comics and sort-of comics. https://linktr.ee/jareddweiss
Does anybody know any good alternatives to Gumroad for hosting comics/files? It seems they recently changed their minimum payouts from $10 to $100(!!!), and now I have $50 locked to the system before I can get paid, and that's total bullshit.
In the meantime, if you can buy some comics to help me reach this threshold, that would be appreciated, but after then I will likely shut this store down unless Gumroad reverts their abusive policy.
Cześć! The Sycamore will also be having its Polish premiere at Animocje Festival on April 24th in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Wish I could be there. 🌳
Alas, O Jupiter, I've done it again... The Sycamore returns to Cardiff for a duo of screenings at Cardiff Animation Festival on April 23rd & 25th, with an online watch party on April 28th. I unfortunately won't be there in person, but you can catch me in the watch party.
Additionally, on April 29th, there will be an online Filmmaker Q&A that I will be participating in, so you can catch me there too. 🌞
It's Brazey's 10th Birthday!
To celebrate, I'm doing something I've never done before, and announcing a film before I've finished it. I'm currently in production on a documentary that chronicles Brazey's history from birth to this very film, and all of the ups and downs in between.
If you have any Brazey memories you'd like to share, please e-mail them to [email protected] within the next month, and I will try my best to incorporate them into the film with credit. Pictures, text, audio, video, etc. Brazey will thank you, and I will thank you, as with my 12* prior films, I'm making this with zero budget and just the desire to create.
Stay Tuned and Stay Brazey.
I am making a movie. Usually I don't announce my films until I know they're finished, but this one felt appropriate to reveal today, since so much of Brazey's existence is tied to Tumblr.
If you've ever participated in the Brazey Exchange, or anything like that, I have your input already, but if there's anything further you'd like to say or if you want to be credited with something other than your usernames for your pieces, definitely reach out to me within the next month please.
Aye, I'm seeing double! Next week, Silver Lake Shorts and Glasgow Film Festival (along with Animation Scotland) are hosting a duo of collaborative screenings: one in Glasgow, one in Los Angeles, and The Sycamore will be screening in both. I'll be in attendance for the Los Angeles screening at El Cid. 🌳🌳

Shoutout to Ratboys for giving me a shoutout to a sold out crowd of 600+. Wacky shit.
Extra shoutout to everyone that picked one up (they too sold out) by donating to Centro CSO, and again to Ratboys for setting that up.
As noted, there's now a print-it-yourself version available for free on my Gumroad, but I encourage you to go to Centro CSO's website and make a donation if you can.
