Starting off the week right with this stencil, Monique, I created back in the day. She was inspired from my childhood, during a time when I used to hang out with my cousin who was a Chola. I'll share more on this story soon. I wanted to capture my memory on how beautiful cholas were to me as a little girl, oblivious to what their identities represented. Designing patterns on this pot was a meditative joy! As they all are really. 🎨 I used to be an artist for Trader Joe’s and I’d use Posca paint markers a bunch. When I came up with the idea to paint on pots, initially I used acrylics. I quickly realized that this was too time consuming and decided to give paint markers a go. Viola! Today I’m taking it back to a magical time I got to explore Monument Valley, in the Arizona/Utah border. I seem to have a strong connection with the Southwest. It’s sprinkled all over my artwork! I’m a huge fan of Native American Pottery. A couple of years ago, I started painting on terra-cotta pots that I collected. They make me happy! They’re also something for me to work on when my Husband wants me to watch Superhero movies with him that I can’t keep up with!🖊🏺🌈✨🎨 (at Koreatown, Los Angeles)

I love drawing pretty botanical shapes. Any excuse to play with color pencils, markers and ink pens! I’ve recently been gifted with free time to officially start up my small business as a Maker! I’m excited to embark on this new phase of my life. Especially as a new Mother to a 6 month old baby! Let the fun begin!🖊🌈✍🏽✏️
