it's funny how so much of the heroism we applaud is achieved when people do their best to behave like a computer in a crisis: carefully following written procedure and not allowing their emotions to run away with them, while fictional heroism usually involves people doing something crazy in violation of procedure and letting their emotions get so intense they somehow rewrite reality and overrule physics and logic.
