The Galaxy's Best Love Story💖
Un dibujo de Luke y Mara Skywalker estilo Art Nouveau que hice el año pasado.

No? Let me explain the facts, plain and simple. Leyton was initially written as the endgame. However, as the show progressed, the writers saw the superior chemistry between the actors playing Brooke and Lucas, especially since they started dating. From that point on, the writers changed their plan, and seasons 2 and 3 introduced developments that clearly pointed towards an endgame for Brooke and Lucas, and Jake and Peyton. It's all well and good to always talk about season 1, but generally, the first season can't be the model to follow for the rest of a long-running show. Because the characters are supposed to evolve. So, establishing such development and change works if it's done in an good written way, as was the case with One Tree Hill. Except that when the actors broke up and Jake's actor left, the writers went back to their original plan for Leyton. And going back to a couple established in season 1 whose development was reversed for the following two seasons... That doesn't work. It can't work. It becomes bad writing. We're going backward instead of continuing a development built up over two seasons. So no, we can't say it was always Leyton. They were the original plan, but that didn't guarantee an endgame. An original plan generally never guarantees anything as you progress in writing a story. The truth is, if the actors who played Brooke and Lucas had stayed together, it wouldn't have been Lucas and Peyton. So from the moment another endgame was considered, you can't say it was always Lucas and Peyton. Because that's factually false. The only people in denial aren't Brucas fans, but those who deny reality in the entire writing of the show and what goes on behind the scenes.
A few years prior to the events of A New Hope, a young woman named Mara Jade, under the guise of a unimportant Imperial recruit, leads an special operation to Tatooine to hunt down any remaining Jedi that may be hiding on the planet.
While there, she meets and befriends a young man her age named Luke, who sparks the first seed of change in Mara's loyalty towards the Empire.

Aka if I were to ever write a Mara Jade centered fic that takes place in the new canon,, where Mara is masquerading as your average child solder on Tatooine, but secretly the leader of her squad/operation, and Luke is the '"dorky farm boy" (her words) who is "kinda cute" (Again, her words) that she befriends and kinda falls for,,
More to story than just that lol, and it would take place both when Luke and Mara are around 15/16 or so, and then the story would pick up again later after the events of the Return of the Jedi :)
anyway, just a silly fic idea of mine haha
my darkest days are brightened by your light.
Been rewatching OTH and I know you ship Brucas & so do I. Something that bugs me so so much is when people who ship Leyton say that Brooke & Lucas bonding in season 2 came out of nowhere, so his declaration of love for her at the end of the season, also comes out of nowhere. I always feel like my head is spinning trying to explain that Brucas friendship in season 2 isn’t out of the blue, what would you say to them? I always thought Brooke and Lucas did a way better job of actually showing build up where I feel like with Peyton & Lucas, the show was just always *telling* us “oh there’s something deep here between these two”
Definitely agree. OK so here’s the thing about season 2, it’s kind of a reset but it’s also not a reset at the same time. Meaning that until 2x09, Lucas doesn’t spend any time alone with either Peyton or Brooke because he’s not supposed to be leaning one way or the other, he’s starting over a new leaf so he’s usually with Brooke and Peyton together
or he’s with one of them with someone else
but the history of the triangle still lingers over the three of them
but I would argue the history of Brucas lingers more -- Peyton is still looking at Felix after Brooke told him off and Brooke glances at Lucas, you see the shift, and Lucas looks back
and when Peyton reveals that Lucas left a letter, she’s distraught and angry over what the letter could say:
“I’ve been carrying around the fact that he left without a word and you’ve been carrying around the words the whole time?”
and it’s made clear throughout the episodes that Brooke isn’t over the betrayal, yes,
but I would argue she’s also not over Lucas either
When Lucas and Brooke do have a conversation and begin their platonic connection in 2x09, I think it makes sense considering how they began talking in season 1 - Peyton was in trouble and they both ended up bonding while they were taking care of her and Lucas realized there was more depth to Brooke than he anticipated
While no one is in trouble in 2x09, Lucas is dealing with his heart condition and Dan’s lies about his health plus Anna gets drunk and then leaves the formal while Brooke found out about Mouth and Felix and the dollhouse so the night didn’t go according to plan for either of them and they end up finding each other
there’s even a callback
to a conversation they had in season 1
they then ended up talking all night and re-realizing that they did in fact have a connection
and Brooke coming to see Lucas the next morning to walk to school together
keeps in line with when she went to see him play basketball after they had their connection in 1x08
especially since she was never really over Lucas in the first place and then they just keep hanging out which is perfectly organic.
Ok but why are people blaming Brooke for Lucas and Peyton cheating on her twice? 😭
She literally asked Peyton multiple times if she’s ok with her dating Lucas, Peyton said “go for it”. At that point, Peyton has no leg to stand on. She was asked point blank, she denied, end of story.
Second time, she purposefully ruined Brooke and Lucas by:
1. Telling Brooke her feelings about Lucas knowing it will cause Brooke to feel insecure (especially considering their history);
2. Gaslighting and manipulating Brooke by using her own words about “feeling independent and not depending on Lucas” as a way of saying “see you don’t love him as much so it’s fine if I take him!” Like first of all wtf? Second, this is so good, we should never be dependant on our partner, they are our equal and supporter but there is still some boundaries and autonomy in relationships;
3. Peyton knows Brooke is distancing herself from Lucas because of what she said and yet won’t tell Lucas the real reason behind their break up (and Brooke obviously won’t tell him since it will ruin L*yton getting together 🙄);
4. Constantly trying to dissuade Lucas into getting back together with Brooke and always being by his side knowing Brooke would stay away if she saw them together;
Lucas is also a shitty a boyfriend in season 1. But in season 2, HE WENT AFTER HER, Brooke didn’t want to get back together at the time despite loving him. Lucas was sooo good in season 2 and 3 but messed up when he didn’t tell Brooke about the kiss (that I mostly blame on the writers, it’s too OOC of his character at the time to not tell her the truth). Season 4 Lucas is just….horrible and deserves the worst of the worst. He should’ve put boundaries between him and Peyton and not given up on Brooke. But yet again, this is mostly the writers redirecting to L*yton because the s2-3 Lucas would have done just that.
very UO but if they couldn’t bring back Jake, they should have stuck Peyton and Julian together as endgame over Leyton! Julian and Peyton had already supposedly been in love, they both like cities (LA, NYC etc) and it makes sense they’d live there due to their careers, and both Peyton and Julian for a lot of their time on the series seemed ambivalent about starting a family. Also, Julian is smart and on the introverted side like Lucas but a little goofy like Jake - a combination of the traits Payron goes for! Meanwhile, we saw so clearly in season 5 that Brooke and Lucas both loved being back in one tree hill, they both seem to have jobs they can do anywhere, they both very much prioritize settling down and having a family, they were already unofficially co-parenting Angie, they still have that seemingly effortless and magical connection, they balance each other out perfectly…I could go on!
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded that one bit. First of all, Peyton deserved a million times better than Lucas by the time he finally got around to choosing her. She was lacking any sort of spine or self respect when she ran to that airport. As irritating as I found her character for large stretches of season 5, ultimately she wasn't in the greatest place and only imagined that her happiness could be attainable if she won Lucas back. Now to get back to what you were saying. I definitely think Peyton was better off and would have thrived most living away from Tree Hill in a bigger city where her dreams could really take off. I mean, the show really said that because Peyton wasn't exactly where she wanted to be at age 22 that this made her a failure and retroactively meant her decision not to rush down the aisle at age 19 had been a terrible, awful, shameful mistake. Seasons 6 and 7 Julian would have made a lot of sense as a partner for the ambitious Peyton who had faced so much trauma and pain in her hometown. STRONGLY agreed about your points re: Peyton and Julian being ambivalent and sometimes even negative about settling down in Tree Hill compared to Brooke and Lucas who genuinely loved it there and couldn't imagine raising their families elsewhere. I'm aware every aspect of this was unintentional considering the possibility of a Brucas endgame post season 3 was basically taboo, but in terms of compatibility Brooke/Lucas and Peyton/Julian made the most sense. If we couldn't have Jake back for Peyton, obviously. In the end, Peyton still left Tree Hill, something Lucas never wanted. And Julian settled for staying in Tree Hill for Brooke even though he'd rather be in LA. Relationships are all about compromise, but it's interesting how their situations sort of parallel. You should go on, because I love reading your thoughts! I genuinely think if not for Peyton's continued interest in Lucas and Lucas having an unfortunate history of making the same mistakes over and over again, Lucas would have eventually ended up with Brooke. Season 5 Brucas had such an ease around each other. Their goals lined up perfectly. The chemistry was still there. Their communication was really solid and both went out of their way to emotionally support the other. Maybe it's because the pressure was off considering neither was expressing their feelings, but you see them taking care of Angie and the way Lucas considered proposing to Brooke and instinctively know that they could have had it all. It's really depressing.
She’s my kinda girl.
A friend to all is a friend to none Chase two girls, lose the one When you are young they assume you know nothing
I don’t know why I’m typing this in 2019 but I’m still mad at the fact that when Brooke said “When Lucas was away I realized I wasn’t as dependent on him as I used to be”, it was twisted to make her look like she didn’t love Lucas anymore? I’m rewatching season 3 for the idk how many time and I still think it is completely ridiculous. How can you not love this line? It screams healthy relationship and character development. I love Brucas in this ep. The way Lucas looks at Brooke while she’s laughing shows how much he missed and loves her. The smile on Brooke’s face when she sees him is the same. They don’t need to be together all the time and they shouldn’t anyway. No offense but how can L*yton even compare? Their entire storyline revolves around the fact that he *~saves~* her, which is not only boring and unrealistic but also unhealthy.
And while I’m on the subject, how about their entire fake engagement night in season 5? And the dream sequence? In both of these scenes they’re pictured as this power couple, different but both following their dream and they just look happy. How can you not love that? Why was I robbed like this?
BRUCAS <3
here’s the thing about brucas.
lucas scott always thought he could do no wrong because he’s a good guy and good guys don’t usually screw up.
he has a nice thing going on there. a mom whom he adore, a supportive best friend, a huge crush on this girl who never ever thought twice to look back at him. but then he gets picked up to play on the basketball team and he finds himself getting into his car one day and boom.
brooke davis. naked. in his car.
and the she has the freaking guts to ask him if he noticed that that night would be the beginning of everything. that night changed everything.
and it did. it really did.
then weeks later there he is, talking to her all night, discovering a whole new brooke davis. not the girl he found naked on his car to seduce him. but the girl who would proudly walk into a battle to save her best friend. and listened to her. and she listened to him. and that’s when everything changed and he saw she wasn’t just some dumb cheerleader with a fame of sleeping around. he saw a girl with a huge heart who’d probably kick the crap out of anyone who tried to hurt her best friend. and she called him because she was scared and she needed help. and he came.
he saw her. he truly saw her and he liked what he saw. and she was able to put a smile on his face every single time because she challenged him. she let him be himself, free, doing all the crazy shit he always thought he couldn’t do because he was a good kid.
you see, he brought the best out of brooke when they were together back in season one. she saw in him the hope she always craved for, the attention and need she wanted. and she gave herself to him, with open arms. not to mention, her heart. she opened her heart to him.
and even with everything that happened, the cheating, the “we can’t even be friends anymore because I don’t care”, they did became friends. and although lucas messed up big time, he realized she didn’t want peyton. no. he wanted brooke. he wanted brooke davis. the real one. all of her. he wanted her.
and she wanted him. but she was so heartbroken about the first time that she couldn’t let herself gave him again. what if she got hurt again?
but season three came and they tried and it was beautiful. because they loved each other so much you could see in their eyes. lucas scott looked at brooke davis like she was the air he needed as much as she needed him.
then season five happened and they were happy, so happy, so damn happy, being a family, a real big time family, and lucas asked her to stay. and they fell asleep on each other’s arms, holding a baby they could’ve called their own.
and it hurts so damn much to know that they could’ve had it all but they didn’t because the world couldn’t see they were meant to be. all of sudden their story wasn’t relevant to the universe. it was never them.
and it’s so unfair.
send me a character or ship and i will tell you my full opinion.
@brucastrash asked: moments where Lucas Scott looks at Brooke Davis like she’s his home.

Did you view the Leyton library kiss on the same level as the DE s2 kiss where one of the characters thinks theyre dying. Would you class it as cheating or not? Stefan never found out about it but Brooke did and she was mad. I actually forgot this happened before she visited jake. What's funny is that Lucas had no intention of going into the school even though he knew Peyton could have been in there. Whereas Nathan didnt think twice about rescuing Hayley. I wonder if it would have been different

Oh I HATE the school shooting episode so I youtubed the scene and yeah, Lucas runs after Nathan, he doesn’t go in for Peyton. I mean, there seems to be this narrative that Lucas went above and beyond for Peyton and not Brooke but I think about the episode the time capsule was released because Lucas talks about how he has to beat Dan and Nathan glares at him and walks away, shaking his head and Lucas is about to go after him but then Brooke’s time capsule comes on and he stops midway to watch it and that always got me, it’s a small scene and an underrated one but he put seeing if he had to mend fences with Nathan on hold to see what Brooke had to say so who knows what would’ve happened if Brooke was the one in the school. In terms of the kiss, yeah I’d classify it as a deathbed kiss but that doesn’t mean that Brooke doesn’t have the right to be mad especially since Lucas didn’t tell her and neither did Peyton. I wouldn’t consider it to be cheating personally but I understand being angry about it.
