My former #art teacher & friend (for now) #PatTierney recently dug up & posted this #watercolor #painting exercise I did while visiting his classroom at the #tcac #torranceculturalartscenter a number of years back. I got the idea from exercises by #CSULBillustration's #RichardOden #DickOden shown to me by then-dept head #DavidHadlock in an #illustration class. Note the cool light areas & warm dark areas. Using temperature to show greater distinction between light & dark etc. #colortheory I believe the subject is #jigglypuff from #pokemon?

This news about #DannyBoyle saying the #trainspotting sequel will be his next film. Great news (well for me anyways). The original has a permanent place in my Top (pick a number) films of all time. Hugely influential to me in my college years especially. One of the first films to guide me into seeing art everywhere in "regular" urban life alongside Hong Kong art-dramas by #WongKarWai. I guide to precisely how to feel and precisely what not to do. I know who #LouReed was because of it. I gave #IggyPop another chance because of it (and I'm glad I did). I had a six-foot two-color (black & pre-mixed orange) poster of this image in my bedroom. It romanticized hard #painting AND scared me the hell away from them--in a way that #DARE could never hold a candle ten feet from. If the purpose of social media is to get to know each other, then this film is most definitely and distinctly another piece of me. Looking forward to the sequel.
