The spiders in the basement have made their webs between the steps of the stairwell. No bugs caught in their traps, just lint from the dryer, and the corpses of the last spider tenants.

Do they know of the world outside where their webs would be plentiful—capturing more than just the buzzing light that stays on without end?

If I turn it off would they leave?

Has anyone else thought about how AI services like ChatGPT are going to end up not free at some point in the near future once we are all dependent on them and the venture capitalist funding dries up? Then we will all have to pay subscriptions for a personalized AI that some company will be siphoning off our personal information from to sell to other corporations and the government.

It’s the same roll out plan that Uber had and it jacked up all the prices as soon as the investors decided they wanted more stock.

I find myself using it for certain small tasks and I’m realizing it’s actually super fucked up that I’m slowly becoming numb to it. The sad thing is my brain is so stressed from current realities and my phone addiction that sometimes I don’t care. The cycle is draining my creativity and at this point I think having an art practice that doesn’t use AI is actually resistance and I’m kind of ashamed I ever turned to AI to make art.

Feeling like a cyborg but like I’m missing the human part of me that actually fuels my imagination.

Started using tumblr again and realized I’ve officially had this blog for half my life, we truly live our lives online now and this place is a gravesite of so many past selves and struggles.

For the person commenting on not taking a pay cut, he HAD to change his lifestyle to be able to afford to pay his employees a living wage. He talked to accountants and they helped him break the numbers down based on data about the cost of living and various factors about the commute, housing issues, etc. All inspired by his best friend going nearly into debt over medical costs meanwhile he had several houses, a jet, and drank champagne daily.

He sold stock, houses, and changed his spending and as a result, his employees were overall happier and the way they worked improved. They all bought more shit and had more kids and did all the consumption people want for us while also enjoying their work and their boss enough to band together and buy him a fucking Tesla as a thank you.

And you know what he realized after taking his pay cut? He didn’t need the champagne or the girls or the “lifestyle” of being a billionaire. He feels fulfilled in his work and with the people he’s surrounded himself with and he feels that he’s made a step in the right direction that other businessmen and billionaires should follow.

Update: during the pandemic, Dan Price cut his salary to $0 so that he could keep paying his employees.

When you post or talk about him, don't assign his actions to him, assign them to "The Republican Administration," or "The Republicans." This will have several effects: the Republican legislators will either have to take responsibility for their association with him or stand up for what some of them don't like; he will not get the focus of attention he craves.
