THE BROKEN PROMISE

Happy times. Big dreams. I thought this was it. Forever. Then, things went wrong. Small things. A missed call. A quick text. A look that lasted too long.

You said it meant nothing. Just a mistake. A friend. You said you loved me. You said you'd never hurt me. You promised. You looked at me. You sounded kind. Promises. Empty words.

I remember the laughter we shared, the late-night talks, the way your smile brightened my darkest days. We painted our future with vibrant colors, filled with adventures and love. But in the blink of an eye, everything changed.

The truth hit hard. It broke everything. It wasn't just cheating. That hurt a lot. It was the broken trust. The lost faith. The pain of knowing you hurt me. You hurt me on purpose.

I think back. I look for signs. Did I miss something? Was it always there? Or did it just happen? I don't know. The questions bother me. They're like ghosts.

I'm angry. Really angry. But I'm also sad. Sad about what we had. Sad about what could have been. Our dreams are gone. It's like paper crushed. I miss the good times.

But this won't break me. I'm not a victim. I'm a survivor. This taught me things. It showed me what strength is. It showed me I'm worth something. Real love isn't about lies. It's about being loyal and kind. It's about caring.

The future is unclear. But I'll keep going. I'll get better. I'll learn. I'll love again. But I'll be wiser. Stronger. I am not broken; I am healing. And I am whole.

The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 that we should be thankful no matter what's happening. It's a choice we can make, even when things are tough. Being thankful also helps us focus on the good stuff in our lives, instead of getting stuck on bad stuff. This makes life feel more worthwhile and meaningful.

To me, "The Lord bless you and keep you" signifies God's abundant goodness and safeguarding presence in my life. I understand "The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you" as a description of God's loving favor and kindness, showering me with blessings. "The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace" conveys to me God's attentive care and the resulting inner peace and tranquility He provides. In essence, the blessing promises God's constant presence, protection, favor, and peace in my life. This verse offers me comfort and hope, reminding me of God's unwavering love and support in all circumstances.
