A few days ago I was cooking and pretending I was hosting a Food Network show, as you do. I started to say something about fresh, traditional flavors that would make my family proud... And then remembered I'm Midwestern Nordic (is there anything green in hot dish?) on one side and sharecropper English (grandma D's breakfast special: Sanka and a Virginia Slim) on the other

It got me kind of down for a while. Then I made tuna salad and realized I routinely fight with bf over what belongs in it, so there's probably a there there after all
