What If..

So we all know how it was Sirius's idea to switch the secret keeper to Peter without knowing about him being a death eater obviously, but what if it was James who chose Peter over Sirius. Like his first choice was Pete. What if James had dated Regulus when Regulus was 16? What If when James saw the mark, he asked Regulus to come live with him so he could protect him. What if Regulus declined. What if James felt betrayed by Reg, What if he left as Regulus was doubting him. What if he thought Sirius was working with Regulus and just didn't trust Sirius after that because when Regulus and James were dating Regulus and Sirius's relationship was somewhat stable. what if it was because of how Reg doubted him he couldn't beer if Sirius did the same. What if James would just spend a whole day just looking at Sirius noticing how similar he and Regulus looked. What if when he looks at Sirius for so long without talking just as he would do to Reg he breaks down. So that’s why He chose Peter.

A Normal Death Eater Meeting

voldy: sOoOo Lucyyy what did draco tell you about all the drama at hogwarts?

Regulus was always a cat person because he was like them on the inside.

Sirius was a dog person because he WAS one on the inside ; big ego, loud, confident, one personality around people and completely different with no one.

When Regulus started Hogwarts Sirius was the dog that chased after him trying not to get him involved with certain dark arts and other stuff. Regulus was the Cat and ran away from the dog not feeling comfortable with him especially after he got sorted into Slytherin.

James even with the ridiculously large ego of his tired fixing their brotherhood and Sirius was all for it but the first time he tried he said something offensive to the Slytherin house, Regulus got pissed and told Sirius that wouldn't be brothers anymore and never were, breaking Sirius. After seeing Sirius breakdown once Regulus James stopped trying.

When Regulus was 16 in his 6th year he had got his dark mark and was sitting at the great hall anxiously in case a later from his parents arrived.

Regulus gets a letter about playing his marriage with some girl he probably shares DNA with, he pales after reading it and rushes out of the great hall.

Sirius upon seeing his brother get a letter from his dreadful parents and watching him pale got up and made some sort of excuse to leave. Moony understanding saud nothing but James wanted to come with him but Remus told him to let Sirius do this alone.

Regulus is at the black lake crying.

Sirius looks both shocked and surprised at the sence but his bug brother sense he hasn't used in 6 years takes over him.

"Reg." Regulus hears some one say his name and jumps up wiping his tears cuz a proper person doesn't cry. Upon seeing his brother he looks both shocked and relieved. Without thinking he goes and hugs Sirius as hard as he can.

Sirius is taken back at first but melts into the hug. He asks what's wrong but gets nothing in response for a few minutes

"Their planing my engagement" Regulus says breaking the silence leaving Sirius shocked a

He tells his little brother he could come stay with James and him but when Reggie says no he has why and reggie slowly removes his robes covering the dark mark.

Sirius doesn't have a expression on his face it was full of sadness and hurt and shock.

He doesn't say anything thing but hugs Reggie " don't do anything stupid" he says gazing off in the moon light.

And that's how James potter found them in the morning; the black brother out by the black lake hugging each other asleep.
