About herr - she is quite the indulgent individual, her life as a vampire being oppurtunity to take part in all of life’s simple pleasures. She is someone who loves to indulge, she participates in high society but engages at a distance, she loves loves to live life lavishly. Surrounded by a million and one books she’s collected over the years, she is a woman of many hobbies and interests, one of which being moth keeping.
Though she is happy with the life she built along side her ghostly lady’s maid, she has admittedly grown quite lonely over time. That is, until a curly-haired witch stumbles into her life.

Ah my darling Vienna - this is a couple years old but I’m still quite fond of this sketch. Had the idea to put dead snap dragon flowers on her dress at the time, an idea I’d like to play with more
I actually ended up changing up how her face looked because honestly it looked egregious before. Small old sketch dumps of both the gals will be next!
Oldd arse doodles of my lovely witch Marjorie! An aspiring sorceress who wants nothing more than to hone in and mould her skill as a witch, and to live a simple life surrounded by the work she loves with her familiar and best friend hazel (a little brown bunny)
Her design presently is not much different, maybe changes in hair perhaps, but I can just draw her better now haha
Far right in the last image is the old design of my character Vienna, a vampire, who differring from Marjorie, was not born into the magical world they inhabit. The both of them are much more developed than they were before, but I still like a lot of old work of them. More of them soon!
Also if I feel like it, I may post something more recent just to break up some of the old work, we’ll see!
I gave myself the challenge of redesigning Anastasia’s key and music box + the figurine inside for my college project. I actually never finished this as these are still sketches but I got as far as to design a few concepts for it, and said concepts are based on a paper box I cut and designed.
Kinda wish I did to see how I would’ve completed it, but I didn’t have enough time :,) what’s done is done is done I suppose. I enjoyed alot of parts of this project looking back at it but I don’t think teachers knew or were behind what I was doing in the slightest (they were much more fine art oriented and looked at me funny whenever I mentioned characters and concept art)
I looked at examples of old kokoshnik + sarafans for the figurine’s attire and I remember LOVING researching them they are so beautiful
POV: you are the young king of Ithaca and you finally see that Spartan princess you were so curious about
A woman with a stature fit for a goddess standing proud and tall amongst her valiant people, her long hair cascading down her back akin to ocean’s waves, her eyes as bright as the endless sky above, with gaze so clear and so perceptive giving a glimpse of undeniably sharp wit hiding behind the calm and gentle smile. She was ethereal. And she was most definitely too far of a shot for Odysseus to make, but as luck would have it, he has always been an excellent archer.

More about the drawing below the cut
I have two work modes: either a drawing process stretches over weeks and months, or I get 90% of it done in one night 🙃
Here's a version without the dreamy overlay and sparkles
I normally gravitate towards Mycenaean styles of clothing for these characters, but when I saw this dress I knew I had to draw Penelope wearing it, it was just too perfect (is this the colour of the wide dark sea they talk about?🤭). And then I also found this statue (this particular angle, unfortunately I can't find the original source of the image) and it all clicked together.
Here's also my old character design post where I mentioned some of the naiad features headcanons.
The idea, as I mentioned in the wip post, was for the dress to resemble swirling water (a reference to both Homer's wine-dark sea and Penelope's naiad heritage), but @prompted-wordsmith pointed out that it also resembled a tree trunk, quote "the cultivated olive to Odysseus' wild one", which was an absolutely excellent comparison that didn't even occur to me.
I think it would be fun to later try and redesign this dress in a Mycenaean style, because I really want to have this consistency in my own visual 'canon', plus I really like the way the jewelry here turned out, so I think I'll probably keep it as Penelope's princess set. The veil in the original reference is also very nice, for some reason I have always imagined Penelope's "glistening veil" in the Odyssey to be some shade of pink. Maybe it's the EPIC's colour coding that has to some extent rooted itself in my brain or maybe the veil was actually mentioned as being pink at some point, regardless, I really think this particular shade works great here. I would probably use a more desaturated colour for her Odyssey timeline version, but this bright one fits well for her younger years, in my opinion))
Anyways, it was nice to work with colour again after so long, but it was also quite daunting at the beginning of making this piece. Still, I'm incredibly satisfied with the results and I think this has helped me with figuring Penelope's colour palette a bit more. I have *attempted* to give her skin a barely noticeable blue-ish tint (again, because of her mother being a naiad for whom that colour would be a bit more pronounced), so that's also something to play around with more in the future✨
I also made an attempt at colouring the line art, since I've had some interest in exploring more different techniques and styles, so we'll see where that goes))
Old animation of my oc - A forlorn queen doomed to isolation and secrets.
Though I was very proud of this when I made it, I originally wanted the lines of the lion head to kind of swirl in (kind of like the imagery in wolf walkers) but had very little skill and patience (;-;) to do so. So having the image smoothly glow past was the next best thing haha
I draw her slightly differently now, but I’m glad I was able to do this little thing of her ^^
First art post in a million years! Character artwork I did for a college project in 2021
Decided to finally come back to posting on tumblr, I've missed doing so alot :,) I have alot of art I would love to share on here, so I thought I'd take it as an opportunity to post some of my older artwork/doodles starting from 2021ish time to now ^^
(Well the ones I dont cringe at too much haha)
If you have been following me since that time, thank you so so much for sticking around for as long as you did, I really appreciate it 💗
Hope to be much more active on here in the future!
