Mistress of Modernism |Marguerite "Peggy" Guggenheim (1898-1979) | American Art Collector, Bohemian & Socialite
After her father Benjamin Guggenheim went down with the Titanic in 1912, his eccentric daughter, Peggy, inherited $2.5 million (that’s $34 million today) which provided her an income of $22,500 a year in the form of a trust fund. In some circles, it was estimated she only inherited $450,000. Bored with New York, she moved to Europe to satisfy her voracious artistic and sexual appetites (Rumor has it she slept with 1,000 men!). She is well known for assembling a very notable modern art collection between 1938-46 from the likes of Duchamp, Pollock, Rothko, Calder, Kandinsky, Picasso, Miró, and many other prominent artists of the time.

bradelterman:
I was hanging around and taking photos with Joan Jett on Hollywood Blvd one day back in 1977. Just before we piled into my Duster ( that was my car ), she pulled out the fucking biggest switchblade I have ever seen! It was all great fun and made for beautiful photos that the Japanese mags all ate up!
Note from brad: If you live in L.A. and are photogenic, I might consider taking your photograph for these pages! E mail me on [email protected]
bradelterman:
Joan Jett and I did several photo sessions on Hollywood Blvd. It was a bit seedy, but it had a soul to it and the afternoon light was amazing. We did some posed photos, but you know me, I like to have my subjects on the move. I still shoot that way today.
I just got to New York. Any tips on who I should photograph while I am in town are appreciated. Don’t ask me to photograph Madonna or Lady Gaga please. You know how to reach me!

🍋 Lemons 🍋
I do not see much about lemons in witchcraft, but maybe I’m just not looking hard enough. However, they are very useful in the craft and easy to find at grocery stores or grown yourself.
Element: Water
Type: Fruit
Forms it can be used in: Fruit form, dried peels, juice, and essential oil
Uses That I Know of So Far:
Can be used to cleanse not only a room of negative energy
Put it in homemade cleaning spray to clean counters, tables, etc.
A few slices of lemon in a bowl with sea salt can be put by the bed for protection during sleep.
You can also place this bowl somewhere else in the room to absorb negative energy in the room. After three days, dispose of the lemon slices and sea salt by burying them
Lemon juice can be used in a purification bath to cleanse the aura
Solve love problems by burning a white candle rubbed in lemon essential oil.
Lemon can be used in all forms for anti-aging spells
Use lemon juice to write sigils on doors or objects to purify
Stepping over a lemon which is on the ground can attract evil energies
Can act as a boost for spells, making the spell faster acting
♡ Mint ♡
(Spearmint/Peppermint)
Scientific Name: Mentha
Money spells
Healing spells
Increase personal strength
Brings luck - break streaks of bad luck
Protects those who travel
Mint was used in ancient Greek funerary rites to mask the scent of decaying bodies and thus is related to Hades. Mint is often used in rituals relating to the dead and the underworld for this reason.
Add mint to a cleaning solution for mopping floors to keep troublesome entities away from your home.
Carry mint in your shoe to prevent bad luck from ruining you attaining your goals
Health Uses: Mint (especially peppermint tea) has been used to aid in stomach trouble as it helps to ease pain. In addition, it helps with the flu, and inhaling the smoke of boiled mint leaves can help with asthma and colds. Mint tea helps headaches. Mint is also known for being antiseptic and anti-inflammatory.
Be Aware: Mint can be difficult to grow as it spreads easily, thus the ideal way to grow mint is in a pot rather than a garden with other plants.
