Hi Meduza!

Love all your mods, thank you for sharing! For the new vanity table mod, I was wondering if there’s an easy way of editing where the Sim who’s doing the makeover would stand. I’m trying to emulate how a servant would do their mistress’s look, and want them to stand behind the stool (and changing some animations, but that part should be fine).

I haven't tried my hand at editing slots in vanity tables, but here are my thoughts on the matter after short inspection. Take them with a grain of salt, I might be completely wrong, but it's some starting point.

Is there an easy way of editing? Well, depends on how you define "easy". ;) Unfortunately, most likely each vanity table would need editing separately.

I believe that the place where the Sim that gives a makeover is standing is determined by BHAV CT - Teach - Route To:

Now we know that Seasons vanity table gives us three routing slots where makeovering Sim is standing: routing slot 0x3, routing slot 0x4 and routing slot 0x5. We also can see that a Sim will try to approach routing slot 0x3 at first, if they fail slot 0x4 and slot 0x5 as the last one.

That forces us to look into the SLOT resource. I recommend familiarising yourself with it. Here's an overview on SLOT resource and here's an overview on slots in general.

Slots are numbered staring from 0, which brings us to look at three last routing slots.

Since their S2 is 0 that means they won't be found in CRES, but their coordinates are stored in Float 1, Float 2 and Float 3. Therefore, you need to edit F1, F2 and F3 of the last three routing slots. I wouldn't recommend giving all three slots the same value - if a Sim would fail to reach the first one, that would mean they would also fail to reach the other two.

As I said, I might be wrong, but that's where I'd start if I wanted to edit where the makeovering Sim is standing.

hi meduza! i was wondering if you might be able to help with something. you’re one of the few people i could find that for sure know how to do this, i messaged c&k too a while ago but they don’t seem to be active currently. i’d like to try my hand at updating raynuss’s playable banjo for argon’s hack, but the instructions at maty aren’t very clear, & i haven’t been able to find any other tutorials. would you be up for explaining how to do it? i fully understand if not, but i thought i’d ask 🙏

Sorry it took me so long - I needed to check what I' ve actually changed when I updated intruments from Atavera's hack to Argon's hack. 😅

How to update instruments to Argon's hack

Updating instruments is actually pretty simple. You need to update two types of resources: BHAV (functions) and OBJD (Object Data)

Start with downloading resources that you will import into package: at SFS | alt

We will start with BHAVs

In function Function - Init 0,1 Lead (in my example instance 0x00001032, but it may be different in other objects) change node 0x1 to No-Op (global 0x02F3). Commit changes.

2. Replace BHAVs Interaction - Perform TEST and Interaction - Practice TEST with resources included in the upload you downloaded. In my example they have instances respectively 0x00001038 and 0x0000103A, but in your case they may have different instances.

3. Move to OBJDs. In OBJD instance 0x000041A7 (main BJD) replace Orig. GUID and Fallback GUID so that both have value 0x4EA0E858. Commit changes.

4. In OBJD instance 0x000041AB (lead OBJD) replace Orig. GUID and Fallback GUID so that both have value 0x6EF2CC17. Commit changes.

5. That should be it. However, I recommend adding to instruments @gummilutt's custom guitars fix, so that they can be taken out from Sims' inventory without them getting broken. See Gummilutt's tutorial. :)

Download: Meduza's frog curse mod texture edit

A small edit I made for myself. I use Meduza's Evil witches can turn sims into frogs/toads and I wanted the frog to be a bit more cartoony, but not as bright green as the ts3 one. So I kept most of bayoubashsims and Meduza's texture but replaced the eyes and tongue with the ts3 ones.

You still need to download Meduza's mod for this to work. To use my edit, install the mod and replace "Meduza_EnchantedFrogman_hair" with my file.

Thanks to meduza, bayoubashsims, TheNinthwaveSims and mdpthatsme for making the mod/the parts used by the mod.

Vanity Table Make Over

TS2 tends to be praised for its detailed objects, however, TS2 vanity tables seem rather lackluster compared to TS4 vanity tables. Therefore, I decided to improve vanity tables a bit. :)

TS4 Make Up animations added to TS2 vanity tables

First part is a global mod that adds four TS4 adult animations and one TS4 child animation to vanity tables that your Sims will perform when changing their appearance with the use of a vanity table.

It comes in two versions - CHOOSE ONE:

Meduza_VanityTableMakeUp - standard version

Meduza_VanityTableMakeUp_PlantsimChangeHair - choose this version if you have Plantsims Can Change Hair Mod and make my mod load after Midge's

I also converted TS4 make up accessories - they are stored in one-OBJD mulitstate object (your objects limit likes that!): Meduza_TS4_MakeUp_ObjAcc, so you need to keep it. It's hidden from the buy catalog and its only purpose is appearing in Sims' hands while they are putting on make-up.

I also made changing appearance cancellable - if you cancel the action while your Sim is already sitting at a vanity table, they will perform TS4 animations, but you won't get the change appearance window. It might be useful for storytelling purposes. :)

There is one downside - the way changing other Sims' appearance at a vanity table works. The Sim who gives another Sim a makeover stands next to them and gives them lecture, so with this mod the Sim that is given a makeover does their make-up on their own while the other stands next to them and preaches. xD Maybe I'll try to alter this behaviour at some point, but converting animations has exhausted me.

As this mod also uses OFB powder cloud effect and powder puff, I recommend using this mod alongside @pforestsims' powder default.

Update 14th of July 2026: now adult lip balm animation and child lip balm animation have their unique custom facial animations, thanks to this tutorial and this tutorial ^^

2. More interactions with vanity tables

The second part is not a global mod, because every vanity tables has its own pie menu table. :(

I added new interactions to three in-game vanity tables (Uni, Seasons and Teen Style):

Zits cream animation looks a bit wonky at times, but it was the best I could get.

Since this is not a global mod, it won't affect custom vanity tables - new interactions have to be added separately if you want them on other vanity tables.

I added new interactions to four custom vanity tables (included with upload):

Queen Elize vanity table by Kate at Parsimonious

I changed their filenames to make edited versions easily distinguishable from originals.

You need to keep Meduza_VanityTableMoreInteractions_Required in your downloads for extra interactions to work, unless you have Meduza_VanityTableTS4MakeUp - then you can delete Meduza_VanityTableMoreInteractions_Required.

Change Wand From Inventory

I also made a mod that lets your spellcasters switch between the wands they have in their inventory without the need to use Midge's wand stands or click on a wand in live mode.

The action can be found under Witch…/Choose Wand…/ or Wizard…/Choose Wand…/.

Once you select the action, your Sim will show you the wand they will be using. Sometimes the wand is placed oddly in their hand, but I decided to live with it and move on.

@midgethetree's Pick Your Wand IS REQUIRED for this mod to work.

However, I recommend using this mod with my edit of Midge's Pick Your Wand as it includes Gryning's TS4 wands and my wandless magic.

Update to MakeMeSick - Tester🦠👩‍🔬

Meduza ( @jellymeduza ) contacted me with an excellent idea:

"... may I have a suggestion for further expansion of the 'MakeMeSick' Tester? How about an option to remove immunity tokens? I use BlueyBre's antibodies after sickness and it does a great job of stopping a flu epidemic from spreading through the entire neighborhood. However, it also makes it so that I can't make my Sims sick even with hacked objects, because they have immunity tokens. :/"

⬇️Some details about how the MakeMeSick-Tester actually handles stuff. (this got way longer as intended, woops)

⬇️And what to do if you wanna infect townies.🦠👩‍🔬⬇️

1. Immunity Token.

Immunity tokens can now be removed.

A sick sim can't be given an immunity token.

Infecting a sim with any or all of the 5 Maxis diseases, CIPFM (cold, influenza, pneumonia, food poisoning or morning sickness), is only possible after their immunity token has been removed.

Sims with immunity token can be given STD, Carbon Simoxide Poisoning, Elder Sickness/Adult Weakness & Mysterious Diseases.

2. Townies (Safe Non-Playables)

Family instances: >= 0x7FDF

The Issue: Townies made selectable cannot be infected with CIPFM diseases due to the game's default disease controller. Editing this core code would cause massive conflicts with other disease mods.

The Solution: Install z_MakeMeSickTester-towniesgetsick_eisbaer.package. This file must load last (after any other disease mods or fixes).

How it Works: Built upon @blueybre mini-fixes, this file overrides BHAV Sim - Exempt from Sickness? (Group 0x7F8A70B6, Instance 0x1024). It uses a fully customizable BCON to control which townies and occults can get sick.

The Exception: STDs, Carbon Simoxide Poisoning, Elder Sickness/Adult Weakness, and the Mysterious Disease bypass this restriction entirely. They can be given to non-household Sims even without the fix package. 👩‍🔬🦠😈

⚠️ Advice: Backup before installing.

3. BCON Configuration

Both the tester and the townie-fix are pre-configured to my personal preferences 🤪👩‍🔬. If you use both files, your BCON settings should be identical in both.

Customization: To hide the pie menu for a specific group, open the tester in SimPE and change its BCON value to 1.

Note: If clicking the MakeMeSick Tester only brings up the immunity menu, a BCON value of 1 is why.

4. Unsafe NPCs & Default Sims

These characters should never get sick—the safety check removes their pie menu choices entirely (no flu for Grim!).

Affected Sims: Universal NPCs stored in the objects.package, alongside Default Family NPCs (Grim Reaper, Therapist, Pollination Technician, Robots, Birds, etc.).

Do you think the compatibility patch you made for Mog's Desk Locator will also work to solve the conflict with Picknmix's Homework Folder, since it's essentially an improved version of it? Sorry to bother you!

No, compatibility plug-in for Mog's Desk Locator works only for Mog's Desk Locator. Pick'N'Mix' Homework Folder mod edits the same resources, but in a different way. I'd have to make a separate plug-in for Pick'N'Mix' mod, but right now I don't really want to add more compatibility plug-ins to School Project - there is already a plenty of them and I'm losing track.

The University Project Project

This bi-monthly theme at GoS gave me some inspiraton, so here's a mod to celebrate GoS returning. :)

This mod gives university students a chance of bringing college project instead of standard written homework, using TS4 Discover University meshes and textures.

Project will look differently for each major. Undeclared Sims and custom majors get randomly one of 11 projects.

Chance of bringing a college project is by default 20%.

College projects take longer to finish, but are more rewarding, letting your Sims gain some skills and hobby enthusiasm. There's 50/50 chance of gaining either logic skill or charisma skill, because those are the skills that made sense to me in the college project context.

As for enthusiasm:

Art project makes your Sims gain Art and Craft enthusiasm,

Biology project makes your Sims gain Nature enthusiasm,

Drama, History, Philosophy and Literature projects make your Sims gain Film and Literature enthusiasm,

Economics, Maths/IT, Physics and Psychology projects make your Sims gain Science enthusiasm,

Political Science project makes your Sims gain Games enthusiasm.

I know some of subjects might not be the best match for certain hobbies, but I didn't want to turn everything into Science and there's history of everything, so this major could fit into many hobbies, like art, music etc.

Sims have a chance of making college project of one of three qualities: low, mid and high. The outcome depends on Sim's grade and getting help with the project (but it only counts if it happens during quality check).

If you use Smonaff's Fall Asleep While Doing Homework, Sims who have fallen asleep while working on their project can't make projects of high quality.

Additionally, Sims with Ambitious, Genius or Perfectionist trait get bonus making it easier for them to get better quality project, while Absent-Minded and Clumsy Sims will get penalty. Sims with Can't Stand Art trait will get penalty if they are working on an Art project. Bonuses do not stack. Penalties also don't. So if your Sim is genius and perfectionist, they will get only one bonus. Bonus and penalty can cancel each other out.

This mod conflicts with some mods:

if you are using simler90's Homework Assignment Mod (Full Version - it doesn't conflict with Placement Version), choose plug-in "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_AssignmentFull" and make it load after both my mod and simler90's mod,

if you are using smonaff's Fall Asleep While Doing Homework, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_Smonaff_UniversityProjectFallAsleep" and make it load after both my mod and smonaff's mod,

if you are using @episims' Pencils by Color Traits, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_ColorPencil" - Epi's mod doesn't conflict with mine, but you need this plug-in to get colorful pencils,

if you are using Dave_Luv's Faster Homework, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_FasterHomework" and make it load after both my mod and Dave_Luv's mod,

if you are using MogHughson's University Mod for use with the Desk Locator, choose plug-in called "zz_Meduza_UniversityProject_UniDeskLocator" and make it load after both my mod and MogHughson's mod.

DO NOT use my plug-in for simler90's Homework Assignment Mod (Full version) and my plug-in for Dave_Luv's Faster Homework - these mods are incompatible.

There's an issue when a project board is facing wall - the project won't turn around and your Sim will be doing their project even though they are facing the board's back. Right now I don't have a good solution for that. The best I can offer you is that you can cancel the action and turn the board around in the Buy mode. :/

Good Morning, I just wanted to send a quick thanks and note of appreciation for your Wandless Magic mod. The cultural mythology that inspired my new save doesn't include wands or broom flying as central to magic/spellcasting so wandless magic works best for me. Edit of EarlyPleasantview's magic duel

This is an edit of @earlypleasantview's Magic Duel.

To my knowledge EPV's mod has never left testing stage, but I've been using it for years with only some minor issues. Thus, I decided to polish it's rough edges a bit. :) I also changed filenames to make them more distinguishable.

From EPV's description of the mod:

Dueling – how it works – Available for Witches/Warlocks. Non-autonomous. Needs at least one selectable witch/warlock. Builds Magic Skill, but does not affect alignment. Non fatal. Scoring is based on Magic skill level, Plus number of successful hits. The Sim with the highest magic skill and the most successful hits win and a random magic reagent is placed in their inventory. Successful Hits – Every Body point gives a Sim a 7% chance of dodging out of spell’s way. Every Logic point gives a Sim a 7% chance of predicting that the other Sim is going to dodge and hitting them anyway. Round ends when one Sim casts five spells or when both Sims cast three spells each.

I made changes to the dodging mechanic. Now Sims will jump forth and back, instead of only jumping back, which looked like teleporting. Moreover, I added a chance of parrying an attack instead of jumping away - chance of dodging/parrying still depends on the body skill, but now witches/wizards with high magic skill have a chance of parrying. I converted two parry animations from TS3 magic duel. :)

Additionally, I added projectiles - if a Sim dodges or parries an attack, you'll be able to see a jet of light flying in their direction. For this mechanic you need my file called "Meduza_AccObjectBending", included in the upload. However, there are no projectiles if a hit is successful, because I also like an idea of spells working remotely and it felt like a good compromise.

The duel will work without the projectiles object, but you won't get cool effects.

Wandless magic

This is an edit of @midgethetree's Pick Your Wand.

I edited @gryning's version, so it includes their TS4 wands.

Replace original files with my edit.

With this edit, your witches and wizards can cast spells without a wand. You need to buy "Magic Hands" trait, found in General/Misc for $0. This trait is different from other traits - placing it in Sim's inventory won't do anything.

You NEED to click on it as select "Set As Wand" option. After that you can place the trait in Sim's inventory, but that's not necessary.

Alternatively, buy one of wand stands and choose "Change Wand…/Magic Hands".

I seem to have run into issues with SimFileShare. It turned out that bunch of my links are not working - SFS upload site is visible, but if you click "download", it throws errors. And it seems to affect only some of updated uploads? Nearly all uploads that I have updated this during last month seem to be affected, but new uploads aren't. Then files updated in April and March appear fine, but some of February updates are throwing errors too.

Has anyone else run into this issue or I have fallen out of SFS' grace?

Here's a list of updates from the first third of the year:

6th of January 2026: poison other Sims, drink poison from inventory, spy crafting station - now if visibly pregnant Sim drinks miscarriage poison, Sims present in the same room as the pregnant Sim will react to miscarriage. However, the poisoner will react and pretend they are worried only if they have 5 or more logic points or genius trait - let’s say in other cases the poisoner is too dumb to pretend it wasn’t them.

31st of January 2026: TS4 floating crystal lamp, edit of Midge’s supernatural transformer, swimmable lounger - these objects should not float in sync

7th of February 2026: school project - fixed a mistake in zz_Meduza_Epi_SchoolProject_ColorCrayon and zz_Meduza_Epi_SchoolProject_ColorCrayonPencil. Please re-download!

13th of February 2026: custom cellphone mod - now smartphone, walkman, Nintendo DS and Switch can be bought from the electronics kiosk. Buying them will fulfil wants. I didn’t add this feature to magical crystal phone, because it didn’t really fit.

17th of February 2026: edited turn-ons and turn-offs - added simler90’s “Do You Like What You See?” fix

24th of February 2026: custom cellphone mod - added new facultative mod: Meduza_custom_smartphone_OFBCustomersCanBuy. It allows non-active OFB customers to purchase my custom electronics from the electronics kiosk. I made magical crystal cellphone buyable from my fantasyesque custom electronics kiosk (still not buyable from the default electronics kiosk).

7th of March 2026: PSR Santana, lukz_gz’ guitars with Argon’s hack - fixed guitars using @gummilutt​‘s tutorial - now your Sims will be able to play guitar that was taken out from their inventory

10th of March 2026: Gummilutt’s Laundry Mod Add-On edited - added files based on the version 2 of @gummilutt’s mod. I put v1 mods into SunMoon_only subfolder and v2 into LamareAndSunMoonComp subfolder. As previously, choose only one version of the mod, delete Gummi’s mod and make sure loading order is correct (make sure my edit loads after my Ask To WooHoo in Walk-In Closet, LimeyYoshi’s/Bluebre’s Coupon Clip from Newspapers, Picknmix’s Specific Clothing Racks mod). “LaundryOnOnly” versions will let your Sims use empty wardrobe if none of laundry systems (neither Sun&Moon’s nor Lamare’s) is present and active on the lot. If at least one of laundry systems is active on the lot (for Lamare’s - _lamare_LaundryCore_DO_NOT_REMOVE is present in your Downlads, there is a Lamare hamper on a lot and there’s no Laundry Pausing Clothing Stack on the lot; for Sun&Moon - there is a Sun&Moon hamper on the lot and there is no Laundry Begone Box on the lot), your Sims won’t be able to use an empty wardrobe. 20th of March 2026: vampire sunblock - added option to put sunblock into Sim’s inventory. I also added two new sunblocks: old time vampire sunblock and old time vampire sunblockwithout effects. They cost 40 Simoleons and can be found in plumbing/miscellaneous. They were cloned from Kate’s Fury Perfume.You still need LycosV’s Vampire Sunblock mod or my edit thereof for the sunblock to protect vampires from sunlight.

29th of March 2026: pc_sims’ surgical station revamped - now the patient will animate accordingly to chest compressions and respirations instead of lying still like a lump of wood. Animations aren’t in perfect sync with doctor’s animations, but I think they work quite alright.

4th of April 2026: Gummilutt’s Laundry Mod Add-On edited - fixed an error in “Laundry On Only” versions of V2 mod that made the game throw errors. Please re-download!

4th of April 2026: pc_sims’ surgical station revamped - added “gown” versions of the surgical station. With any of “gown” versions, patient will dress into solid light blue hospital gown (by @latmosims​). Any of “gown” versions require Latmos’ TS4toTS2 conversion of hospital gown - meshes and solid blue light recolor (included for convenience) and my hospital gown GUID file (also included). The bug (or feature, depends on how you look at it) is that patients who died during surgery will spawn as ghosts wearing hospital gowns. I also updated all versions to make patient dress into the outfit they wore before the surgery rather than always dressing into casual. For some reason the idea came to me only after uploading the previous update of the station.

4th of April 2026: chances of ghost spawning altered by statues - updated mods to offer support for upcoming Sun&Moon set featuring crystals affecting ghosts (Crystal Arrangement of Spirit Anchoring, Crystal Arrangement of Spirit Warding, Crystal Arrangement of Spirit Exclusion) and candles affecting ghosts (Candle of Spirit Anchoring, Candle of Spirit Warding, Candle of Spitit Exclusion). If you download updated files, you won’t need to update them when Sun&Moon’s set is released. :)

12th of April 2026: Custom Castaway bonfire - made minor improvements with taking out trash in both versions of the bonfire

25th of April 2026: Fire Lord robes - re-did af robe with front cloth recolor, because for some unfathomable reason the game has set its mind on removing BINX from the file whenever I created something in Bodyshop. If the robe kept disappearing for you from CAS too, that’s probably the reason. Unfortunately, for the game it’s a new recolor, so you will have to re-buy the robe and re-dress your Sims in the robe. Other ages and recolors weren’t affected.

That's quite a lot of updates for four months... 😬

TS4 Enchanted By Nature Todd pouch outfit - a collab with Massika

Wonderful @megamassikalove converted for me TS4 EP 199 Todd Vest and TS4 EP19 Pouch and turned them into a fullbody outfit with all morphs. 😍

I converted the outfit for teens and added nine recolors for both adults and teens (among Massika's beige brown recolor): beige, black, blue, green, green darker, green dirty, maroon, red and white.

The outfit works as everyday and maternity. Adult recolors are enabled for elders.

Massika also made a psd file, so grab it as well if you want to make more recolors - I didn't know what to do with some original TS4 recolors (like pink shirt or fluorescent green trousers).

Some compatibility patches for @jellymeduza's School Project Project

@jellymeduza already has a ton of compatibility patches for their fantastic "School Project Project" mod/CC pack, but it was still not enough for my complex mod setup, haha.

So, without further ado, here's a couple more patches to add on to their already large list of patches!

1. School Project Project made compatible with simler90's School Work Lecture Mod. Don't worry, this is fully compatible with my previous compatibility patch for School Work Lecture and School Sick Days! Just make my patch load after everything else.

2. School Project Project made compatible with Phaenoh's Summer Vacation Winters Day AND piqiwi's Prom + Afterschool Activity. To avoid a potential conflict with "a future alternate version", I picked specifically the "Homework Sometimes" compatibility patch to fix the Text Lists conflict that was also there. Just make my patch load after everything else and all will be good.

Don't worry if you don't have the Prom/Afterschool Activity mod - it's just a bunch of extra text strings for a "just-in-case" scenario so you can use this patch even if you don't have that mod specifically.

What are the required loading orders between your "More Computer Options" and Blueybre's Attractive Gaming Competitions + Lamare's Choose Career Type Plus Teens?

Uh, that's a valid question, let me see...

Load lamare's choose career type first, my mod second and BlueyBre's mod the last (but make sure you get one of versions that is compatible with my mod).

However, if you want to let teens move out and live on their own, you need to tick "teens" box for interaction "Find Own Place" in TTAB in BlueyBre's mod (and potentially also for "Find A Roommate" if you want that interaction unlocked for teens as well).
