The essay I could write about everything 5sos did with NOT OK. The catchiness on catchiness. The multiple things to hold onto and remember. The lyrics which could go either way depending on your mood and experience. Doing all the different builds and cartharis' and even a moment of quietness. Ending on the second verse. A thrill. Will definitely be looking into their next album. Alt rock, pop punk, electronic.

I feel like it was so smart to make Stan the one to have a relative die to IT as a child. My theory is that Stan always kinda knew that he had an uncle who died as a child, but likely realizes what really happened to him when he encounters Pennywise in ‘89 and it kinda contributes to why he’s the most fearful of IT out of his friends. I know this probably wasn’t a thought when they were making the movies and it’s not canon to the book, but the choice of adding this to Stan’s character over the others is really interesting to me.

No but actually welcome to derry is so genius. Unlike the movies, we’re getting to go thru an arc with a group of characters that will not survive in the end due to demise of living in derry when it is feeding.

It wasn’t often in the movies where you have to actually follow along with a few characters and then they meet their end, because most of the important characters… lived in the end.

And it’s going to be so different from that in this series. As sad as it is though, I love that we’re getting to see this perspective so much.

It really just shows how horrible it was during the past cycles before the loser club’s time. And we actually get to see how deaths due to Pennywise affect not just one person, but multiple people.

The fact we get to experience many kids who dealt with it and ultimately lost (and will see over and over again through further seasons) is such a violent switch in the it franchise.

This show is insane but already good asf
