Han&Annaās trip to Parisāļø
I drew this when I was traveling in Paris last week, At some point during the trip I thought, well, since Iām in Paris, my ship deserves to dress a little more chic too (ā¦?? )and thatās how the idea of āFrench-style outfitā Hansanna piece came up to me
The photos I used in backgrounds were taken by myself, and Iām surprised that designing new outfits for them while traveling was genuinely so much fun
Hopefully Iāll get to make more pieces like this in the future XD
A big thank-you to my bestie @sallychanscraps for always supporting my trash taste. āŗļøš¤š»

anyway. i love speedstorm a totally normal amount for totally normal reasons.
(wait. my otp having matching cars, outfits, and license plates that reference their duet ISNāT a totally normal reason? huh. could have sworn that that and āi actually unlocked Them on the Same Dayā were very normal reasons.)

been thinking A Lot lately about how Disney INSISTED that Frozen was an adaptation of The Snow Queen but literally if you read the Hans Christian Andersen story they have Nothing in common and like. obviously iāve known they had nothing in common the whole time but i did recently realize it has other, Actual Literary Parallels to the point where it is not. Not. an adaptation, whatsoever. just. itās not what they SAID it was an adaptation of. and ugh, the parallels explain So Much of Every Single Opinion iāve ever had about it? because guess what theyāre exact parallels to my opinions about what itās parallel to, which i have had since before it came out? and, ugh, every person i hyperfixate about it to in person is just like āhey i never thought about it until you said something but youāre right! thatās so neat!ā
and iāve just been obsessing over these realizations to myself (and like. four other people) for A Month, at this point, and driving myself crazy because once i Saw The Parallels, everything was So Obvious to me and it all clicked into place but. But. i just keep. crying at random intervals because sometimes. you spend literally more than a decade railing against a surprise villain twist that the only explanation you could see for was āthey Really Wanted to have a surprise villain twist, even though it made No Senseā and then one day. you realize. itās actually an entire literary parallel in and of itself and it DOES, in its new context, make sense no matter how much you actually never wanted it to.
i seem to have picked up some new followers for my Frozen content so i am bringing this back and just outright saying it.
Frozen IS NOT The Snow Queen.
Frozen IS Jane Austenās Sense and Sensibility, minus Edward Ferrars, plus ice powers.
letās look for a moment at a purposefully vague and general plot summary. one that might go something like: āthere are these sisters. and the older one is more stoic and less open with her emotions, and the younger one is passionate and interested in romance, and after an accident the younger one meets this handsome, charming guy, and they fall for each other, but after a series of events, he chooses his ambitions over his feelings for her, and she gets ill, and then in the end she ends up with this other guy who's shyer and more socially awkwardā does it sound familiar? because it should.
but letās go another step. letās look at character names. Elinor and Elsa. Marianne and Anna. John Willoughby and Hans Westergaard. Colonol Brandon, who has no first name in the novel itself but was called Christopher in the 1995 film, and Kristoff Bjorgman. hmmm. gee. if you look up the etymology of John and Hans they even originate as the same name.
but surely this is just coincidence?
whatās that?
funny how that sounds like āOur mental synchronization/can have but one explanationā?
andāwhatās that there that Elinor says about Willoughby when he sends that break-up letter to her sister?
huh, that sounds like a certain villain reveal that i absolutely hate with all my heart.
and then thereās the part that kicks me while iām already down, i suppose. Willoughby chooses his ambitions/money over his feelings for Marianne. Hans chooses his ambitions/power over his feelings for Anna. but!
if Willoughby had made the right choice, he could have had both money and love. meanwhile, as of Frozen 2, Anna is Queen (or so iām told; i havenāt actually watched 2, a choice i made out of protest for Hans not being in it), so if HANS had made the right choice, well. look at that. crown and love were on the table.
but, you know, iām just weirdly fixated on both of these fictional men and cry over each of them every time i consume the media with them in it so maybe iām reading too much into things.
anyway sometimes i think about the fact that like. Hans loves Anna. anyone who says he doesnāt is a liar and i include him in that statement. but she asks him for a True Loveās Kiss to thaw her heart and. even if that worksāwhich it probably wonāt, not because he doesnāt love her but because textually it bears out that it has to be an Act of True Love that ANNA performs FOR SOMEONE ELSE. even if he kisses her and it thaws her heart. Arendelle is still in danger. the people are freezing. the supplies are low. and Elsa has repeatedly stated she cannot end the winter. she does not know how. but not only that. she will not try. she refuses, and Hans KNOWS this because he talked to her in her cell. Elsa legitimately at this point in the film wants only to run away from the mess she made and exile herself again even though it wonāt help anyone at all. so even if his kiss saves Anna. itās only a stopgap measure because Elsaās magic IS putting EVERYONE at risk. including Anna.
but maybe. maybe if Elsa dies, the magic dies with her. he doesnāt know, of course, but itās possible. and if the magic dies with her, doesnāt that mean ALL the magic? the frozen summer AND the frozen heart?
he is backed into a corner. he has no good options. he kisses Anna and it maybe saves her but it doesnāt solve anything else. orā
he breaks her heart. he lets her down. he shuts her in that room and goes to kill her sister because maybe. maybe that is the only option.
maybe, he would rather that the woman he loves LIVE, and HATE HIM. than do nothing and watch both her and her people die.
so he lies. makes himself into the worst monster he possibly can. because either way, he loses her. but at least this way, if his theory is right, heās also giving her an excuse not to go through with their engagement, not to marry the man who killed her sister, because if killing Elsa does stop the magic in Annaās heart then she can tell everyone that he lied. because as much as he loves her, as much as he does still want to marry her, he knows how much it would hurt her. knows how much she loves her sister even after everything.
and sheās the best thing that ever happened to him. but if he has to lose her, to save her? heāll do it.

I love your art and I love the one with hans and naveen sword fighting/training. Can you do a dance class with hans being paired up with anna? I like to imagine them both meeting as kids.
(You sent this twice and I happened to want to draw two things it's a win win situation)
Hans already waltzes fine, but Anna does not. She seems to never be paying attention to her feet...
Hans feeling down in the dumps, and Anna booping his nose and giving him a piggyback ride ? And Hans feeling really embarrassed and hating it at first because it feels childish, but then he begins to love the love ? And fun kindness between them ?
He threw up when they finished
I am actually reluctant to publish this ask because it always makes me happy seeing it in the box ;v;E
