STOLEN FANFICS! :(

Sorry for the big post guys, but if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

My fanfiction ‘Hautley’s Bend’ was stolen, characters named and genders changed, and listed for sale on iTunes as an iBook in 2 parts under the title “Angels & Demons” by someone named Bella Madison. 

In addition, the fanfiction ‘Smiling Out Of Fear’ by thepinupchemist ( @scarlettofletters ) has been stolen and posted on there as well, under the title “Sugar Lane” by Bella Madison. 

Please if you can take a second to signal boost this, it would be much appreciated. It’s possible that other fanworks have been stolen and sold for profit on iTunes by this author, and there’s nothing worse than having your works stolen as an author or artist.

File an app store content dispute! You guys have a well-documented publication of the fiction with dates prior to its appearance on the app store, so it should honestly be an easy IP dispute in your favor. From what I understand, Apple is fairly responsive about this kind of thing.

@schmerzerling unfortunately both of us already tried to file disputes on that link, but for some reason, it doesn’t give us an option to file a dispute over a book :( But thepinupchemist did find a phone number, so if we don’t find some way tonight, we’re going to both call tomorrow and see what we can find out. Apparently this author has posted our stories, and many others, on several different platforms, including iTunes, Goodreads, Scribd, Kobo, and more….

I’ve messaged everyone on this list in some form, whether that’s through the website’s contact button or email or whatever, but I can’t be sure that all of them will get messages from those places especially people like MeganMonster - that story was last edited in 2010 so they might not even be on there anymore.

if i see one more post about how young preteens and teens “can be ace” i’m going to puke. it is completely normal for teenagers not to want or to be interested in sex, and more importantly, many young gay teenagers convince themselves they don’t have any sex drive and don’t “want sex” consciously or subconsciously to deal with the burden of gay attraction and the heaps of homophobia children are exposed to and internalize.

the concept of asexuality in children only harms gay teenagers trying to come to terms with their attraction. it is incredibly damaging and the fact that people can pretend to support gay people and gay children and support this is ridiculous. you can’t have it both ways. you either support gay children or you support internalized homophobia.

Imagine you blow air into a balloon and tie it off. Then when you untie it, you let the balloon go and it flies all over the place. This is how propulsion works. This is what Newton’s Third Law is based on. That the air is coming out and pushing the balloon forward.

The EM drive is moving forward when the balloon is still tied off at the end.

I heard about this theorized not some time ago and thought it was amazing!

The fact that it’s been thoroughly peer-reviewed and still stands up is nothing short of absolutely astounding.

This device works, and no one is quite sure how or WHY it does. It defies our current understanding of why physics work the way the way they do. Which mean basically means that we need to re-evaluate and refine our laws of physics because we have discovered empirical evidence that we’ve got something wrong. And trying to fix our math to accurately describe the universe is going lead to new discoveries about the fundamental nature of reality. IT’S MIND BLOWING.

Not to mention this device itself, if we can elaborate and expand on it, will change how we do propulsion. This might the next stage of propulsion technology. To the people a few decades in the future, combustion engine propulsion technology will seem as silly, outdated, and quaint as steam propulsion or horse-drawn carriages seem to us.

If this thing indeed works, and the results we’ve gotten thus far can’t be explained by some sort of experimental error, it will redefine our understanding of physics. No you know what?? I don’t have any sympathy for guys who feel like they can’t like Ghostbusters because the only male characters were portrayed ‘poorly.’ Because I have sat through and even enjoyed plenty of movies where there were no well-written female characters, or female characters that I loved who were treated badly. 

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy even though Nebula and Gamora were unnecessarily pitted against each other and used more as devices than characters. I enjoyed Fight Club even though the only woman present was someone I would never identify with and who seemingly had very few redeeming qualities. I watched and liked the new Star Trek even when women were objectified and had their officer’s ranks stripped from their uniforms. I liked the Matrix even though I can only even vaguely recall there being a woman in it and I have no idea what role she played besides preparing the main male character for his Important Destiny. I liked the Sandlot even though it was a movie completely made for and about boys, because I found it funny and entertaining. I play dozens of video games written to be stories about men (The original Bioshock, Assassin’s Creed, Uncharted) and still loved playing them.

I could go on and on. Women watch and support movies that are male-centered all of the time, because they often don’t have a lot of options and because they find other merits to enjoy about the movies. In fact, note that I explicitly said I LIKED all of these movies, despite their failings when it came to representing women. The difference is apparently that women are able to see men as people with their own stories worth listening to and their own independent merit even if they are a different gender. Clearly, there are a lot of men out there who don’t feel the same about women. The fact that men can’t show up and support a movie where women get to shine because they’re not represented the way they want to be is sexist, childish, self-centered, and disappointing. And you know what? They can afford to be that way, because they have a million movies to turn to that are for them, about them, glorifying them. Women don’t.

Well like my doctor told me that that bruisey feeling is cause standing on your feet all days causes fluids in your body to pool in your feet

So like at night he told me to elevate my legs with two pillows so the fluids can drain easier or w/e and ho damn.
