“he would’ve wanted you to have them, darling.” his mother says tearfully, embracing cherry. “if.. if he were here, if that— that hood hadn’t taken him from us…” she nearly spits out the words, her voice laced with hatred.

“thank you, ma’am.” is all cherry can manage, nodding politely at mrs. sheldon.

she keeps them in a small dish on her vanity, right where she can see them. they serve as a reminder.

a reminder of how bob could be kind, and strong, and even sweet, sometimes.

a reminder of how he was just as likely to be loud, drunk, and cruel.

not just a reminder of bob, but of johnny, too.

of the soft spoken “hood” who had sensed her discomfort at his friend’s harassment and put a stop to it.

of how he was frantic and jumpy, unable to relax no matter how far away the rings were.

of the massive scar that ran across his face, a horrible clash against his otherwise youthful appearance.

of how the rings had split skin and spilled blood, forever leaving scars, both inside and out.

when she sat at her vanity each morning, the sunrise peeking through her window, she was reminded of bob and johnny, randy and ponyboy, herself and dallas—every soc and greaser alike whose lives had been changed by those rings.

I took my first fall from the wall. On the easiest route to so… yay me.

To be fair my leg has been hurting a tiny bit today. And my right arm is being an issue for some strange reason but it is what it is.

My group for the past two hours has been nothing but noise. The overwhelm that it caused me… I’m stuck here till 5. Maybe I’ll lie and say 4:30 cos it’s supposed to be movie day for the afternoon kids. We’ll see.

Trying to figure out what type of gym membership to get while at work before all the kids get here be like:

I’m still doing day passes for about a month, waiting to see if I can commit and stick with it.

They have an “appreciation membership” for first responders, military/vets and university students (college town) but it is unclear on if the use of university also refers to community college so I have to ask. I hope it does, because three months of that is worth a month of day passes. If it doesn’t also apply to community college, I’ll just prepay three months.

I’m going again tonight so hopefully I’ll have answers by then. Probably going to do another into class next week because I don’t remember all of the warm up stretches.

In other news, I’ve got ten job applications to fill out. (Get me out of the music venue please!!!!!) I also need to pay for the fall semester of school and find the time to pick up my parking pass and student ID. And I need to finish cleaning and organizing my room. So I’ve got a busy weekend.

Oooo they also have packs of passes. A pack of ten day passes gets me two more than a month worth of individual ones for only $15 dollars more…
