“I don’t know, though. I don’t want to wear my welcome out.” With a grin, Chloe took a sip from the drink Jen had handed her, looking around the place again. Even though it hadn’t been that long, she felt like it had been forever since she had taken the time to hang out with someone, and she was certain it had been forever since she’d been able to do so with Jennifer. “I’m not sure how well I handle adrenaline,” Chloe laughed. Maybe theater was something she would have loved to try a few years ago, even; where she wouldn’t feel like her own self esteem was riding on succeeding. But now, she over thought and stressed out so much, until she actually got her anxiety under wraps, she wasn’t sure how well she would do dealing with the pressure of knowing she only had one time to get everything right – night after night after night. “That must be cool, to be playing the same part with different people. That’s not something that usually happens in movies or shows, so that could be a perk to it, too.”
She laughed, not hesitating to pet the dog, smiling down at her. “Well, she’s a cutie, there’s no denying that.” Nodding when she asked about the manicure, she shrugged one shoulder. “Sure, yeah, if you want to. It would be fun.” She nodded, smiling when she spoke about her cast mates teasing her again. “That’s just not fair. They must not have anything else to tease you about because you’re so perfect,” she shrugged, laughing. “I can’t even run without coffee anymore, I’m not even kidding. Coffee and energy drinks. Without those, I’d probably be… falling asleep right now, to be honest.”
“Oh, you wouldn’t, don’t be silly! You’re welcome here any time, you know that!” Jen smiled across at her friend. She was glad that Chloe was there, it had been a while since she’d seen her last, and things had changed a lot since then. Chloe had obviously matured, she’d had a string of successful movies and nominations and awards, and Jen had had a couple failed relationships, started on her directional career and enjoyed some much needed time off. The blonde smiled to Chloe as she spoke up, before she replied, “I think you’d be awesome! When I did The Miracle Worker with Abigail Breslin, I thought you’d be perfect for Helen Keller also.” Jennifer nodded and smiled once again, sipping her drink before she added, ”It’s pretty cool actually. But, obviously it’s never the same, but it’s nice to have someone different to play off of every few nights.” The thing was, Jen was both worried and excited about getting new faces in the cast, she was obviously used to the cast who had been involved in the production, and they were used to her. But, with getting a new cast, things would be slightly more heightened, at least for the first couple of performances.
Jen watched as Ava rolled onto her stomach, expecting a couple of belly rubs and strokes, “She’s funny though, she’ll go from person to person, doing exactly that; begging for belly rubs. It’s cute!” As she glanced over to the nail technician, the blonde nodded and giggled, “I know right? Coffee is like the nectar of the Gods! I don’t feel like I can function adequately without it!” she gave another giggle, before pulling out the chair at the technician’s table, “You first, or me?” she asked Chloe.
