I used to make these Octopus scarves and sell em on Etsy. I sold a bunch at 50 bucks a pop... the problem was that they took FOREVER to make (especially sewing on all the buttons)... I wish they would sell for more so I could justify making them again. The $50 just isn't worth the time/trouble. They sure were cute though.

Back in high school I went through a charcoal phase. This was very early on in my experiments with it. I remember sitting in front of my mirrored closet to draw these. I quickly snapped a picture of these before recycling them. I really just can't be holding on to all of these forever. Someday, when I have kids, they'll thank me for not leaving behind a huge collection of weird stuff for them to sift thru when I die.

Sometimes the things I make are simply photos. These are from the San Diego Mission.
For our New Year's Eve party, we needed a photo wall... obviously.
We taped glittery wrapping paper, gold Christmas tree garland, gold beads, and gold bunting that I cut from cardboard and then spray painted. A lot of work went into all the bits and I think it worked pretty well. The 2015 cut outs were also cardboard. I cut em out, spray painted them, and then wrapped them in some gold ribbon to add some more shine and interest.

Trader Joe's signs for two displays on opposite ends of the spectrum. First, for New Year's Eve... appetizers and yummy party food. And then, for New Year's Day... healthy options for all those with resolutions and weight loss aspirations. What a difference a day makes.
Sometimes you can't find the game you want to play. This time, I took a sharpie and created a game board on a bit of wood we happened to have. We will not be denied rounds of Tripoley!
For a New Year's Eve Party, we helped throw a party. We decided everything should be gold and we named the party "Fancy Heights" (it was in a part of town called Normal Heights). I found a bunch of things of pinterest to recreate including this bubbly bar. I went the cheap route and made my letters out of cardboard that I reused from Trader Joe's boxes. The lighting was quite dim at the party, but it looked pretty darn good. I probably should've snapped a couple photos before the night got started, but this is how your bubble bar will actually look most of the time if you have 50 guests refilling their drinks whenever they like.
Shelf signs at the Joe's. At my store, we try to use marker colors that match the product packaging to make it easier to find the right price. Each sign takes 10-15 minutes to make. Outlining each letter is my least favorite part, for sure. My favorite part? Lamination. Most certainly.
This is from back in December when I made an ornament for my cousin. Somehow, I failed to take a photo of the finished project! Lame. Oh well, you get the idea. I used holiday cards from Trader Joe's and hot glue. It took longer than I thought it would but also ended up looking cooler, too. A good trade off, I think.

We hosted a craft night a couple days before Valentine's Day. Along with a handful of friends, we put a table covered in craft supplies to good use. I made several, but my favorite was a card for my mister made with potato stamps and then filled with ridiculous acrostic poems. My most inspired poems included: "Bendy Like A Kite End" and "Be Like Another Kind Elf".
Sign day at the Joe's. My advice to customers not wanting to interact with the kids and their clipboards: pretend you're on the phone.
