making up original archtypes for your yugioh OCs is on one hand fun and neat, being able to design decks and their monsters to fit each duelist is fun. but also hard and annoying because you now have to like

mainly saying this because of sketching up another endgame boss monster card oc for Jun and im not really great at dragon shapes lol but i'll try, its a learning experience

its very funny how the concept of the "Witch" developed from the start of my idea into Stars' current state because its very different in tone

best way i can describe is in their interactions with other people: Original Concept Witch - Arbiter of fate, will hunt down people according to their twist sense of justice, has a perverse interest in human emotions and Yuji. While current Witch now - local theatre girl lost again in rock paper scissors and is currently attempting at pulling and grabbing the nearest person's head smooth off.

Even their powers are shifted. Both can still see spirits, but Concept Witch was a genuine reincarnated demon and had weird ass cursed demon magic if something doesn't go her way. Jun is only skilled at casting illusions.

It does feel like the Witch is neutered but that is lowkey because the concept witch was more among the lines of " Yubel but eviler." keep in mind this was back when this idea was way more "GX 2" and now that she's developed into her own character she somewhat lost that aspect.

Past meets the present

Thinkin about backstory stuff for my trio for my yuioh oc thing and in particular Jun's family situation again, in my head all of the main Ryugas more or less think theyre better than everyone else, a bunch of opportunists that don't care who they walk over to achieve their goals. They also are very self destructive in both personalities and actions, like they are on a sinking ship and they keep hopping from life raft to life raft because they believe they deserve so unaware they re the reason why the ship sunk. They also really don't like Jun, belittling her, often forcing her to hide her true self and gender identity in front of their presence because what the Ryugas need is a proper heir, and that is a a role suited for Ichiro, not Jun, duh (pricks). It's not even something she did, but something that her former brother did that caused the family to disown him , but he left before they get a lick in, so they don't got anyone to put down other than his full biological sibling.

Another reason why Jun keeps to herself and has a strong dislike towards Kyoji Ryusaki and has abandonment issues. Way to go, Mr Ryuga, you raised a fine family of assholes.

Yugioh Stars Concept #8: messy bond chart and thoughts

sketching and planning out rough layout for the main crew and supporting cast's relationship between each other early on, or at least those in the dorm rooms. the other cast is later but wanted to plan this out

Yuji is placed in the middle cause of course he is. He kinda mingles with any group and person depending on the scenario and he slowly bonds with the main supporting cast and puts up with people who annoy him (see the purple loser Kageyama) With Jun he plays the role of a tired put upon assistant to whatever stuff she pushes whenever shes in Red mode, but even when shes more passive she often drags him to whatever occult nonsense she wants to be with. And with Kenta, being roommates means he gets to listen to his occasional pro duelist pro tips and dueling rants. and with Jinpachi, they basically dislike each other, more so on Jin's end.
