It's ok if you can't do things like you used to.
You're someone different now with different needs and strengths.
Listen to your needs now. They've changed. Don't try to be someone you aren't anymore.
I know some of you really want to help other people who have been hurt or you've been trained in an abusive household to take on other people's emotional trauma as your own, But Please do not put in emotional work for people who don't ask for it.
If a person asks you to go away or dismisses you, they are not trying to get you to delve deeper and find out the real problem (and if it's a manipulation tactic, that's fucked up and you should absolutely not play into that).
It doesn't matter your intentions, it's not your job. It's their job.
Butting into their personal emotional business where you weren't asked to is just going to get you and that other person hurt.
Sometimes it's hard, especially if you care a lot and this person is in a bad place, but I promise the best thing you can do is back off and invest your emotional energy in yourself or in someone else who wants your help.

Sometimes, all we need to hear is that it is okay. So, darling, I just want you to know that it is okay; it is okay that you had a bad day. It is okay that you picked up some old habits. It is okay that you had dark thoughts again. It is okay that you are hurting. It is okay that you made that mistake. It is okay. I know it is easy to be hard on yourself, but you have to remember that you are still healing. Be gentle. Be kind. Breathe. It is okay.
“Most of our lives are spent trying to please people we eventually find out aren’t even good humans.”
— Tai Lopez
Love yourself first.
As I fry chicken at 2am, knowing I have to be up at 6 for work; yes.
“Do your thing. Do it every day. Do it ‘unapologetically’. Don’t be discouraged by criticism. You probably already know what they’re going to say. Pay no mind to the fear of failure. It’s far more valuable than success. Take ownership, take chances and have fun. And no matter what, don’t ever stop doing your thing.”
— Asher Roth
So week three of being a parent and everyone has a cold. I’m getting over it and so is my little one. My husband is currently still down with it. That has been a challenge. All I want is to create a schedule and something seems to get thrown in my path over and over again. It’s kind of annoying. I guess I just have to find a way to roll with the punches. I’m ready this week to try to make some better eating choices and start exercises :)
Two weeks PP
So I had me two week check up with the doctor! Before pregnancy 192lbs. Full term 210lbs. Two weeks PP 179!! I’m pretty excited about that starting point! I also got cleared to lift anything comfortable and do light exercises. Nothing abdominal until my next check up in a month though. Feeling optimistic! Goal is 130lbs! Only 50 to go!
First Time Mom status update
So, I’m officially a Mommy. Little Connor came into this world after a lot of pain and medical procedures, but healthy and happy none the less. Nine pounds, three ounces and twenty-two and a half inches long. It’s been two weeks about since I gave birth. I’m slowly feeling more and more like myself. I have more and more of my body back. While sleep deprived and physically limited because of my C-section incision, I feel much more in control of myself. I will admit my hormones are fairly all over the place, I’m slowly getting things under control. I can’t wait until I’m cleared for physical activity, even if it’s limited to walking or something. I need some outlet to keep myself in a good headspace. I’ve had a lot of doubt going on in my head because my body didn’t do anything it was supposed to when I was in labor and even now, my milk hasn’t been developing the way it should. It feels like a betrayal. It makes me feel inadequate and like I’m failing as a mother on a fundamental level. But logically I know all the things that happened to me happen to women all over the world and that it just is what it is. I can’t control that, I can only control how I handle the situation. I can formula feed and enjoy spending time with my little man if I’m not busy pumping and worrying about breast feeding. So I’m just going to look forward to my doctors appointment tomorrow. Hope that I can get cleared for some exercise and then focus more on recovery and enjoying my time at home for the next 8-10 weeks. My goal is to keep my followers updated on how things are going. If you’re a parent and you don’t love every second of it, you aren’t alone. It’s totally normal and it doesn’t mean you love your little one any less than any other parent. <3. I’m also going to be tracking my progress with my weight loss! I was up to 210 at the end of my pregnancy and my goal weight is 130! :)
