Paranoid. Take 2.
I just learned that one of my favorite anchors at HNN is leaving the team.. And I nearly cried when I got the notice. I can’t help but think it’s partially my own fault. :(

I have anxiety.
I have anxiety and I lie awake every single night. I go to sleep around 3 a.m. and wake up just four hours later. All I ever want to do is be around people... even if I’m just sitting with them; it calms my nerves. I don’t know what to do.
When you have fantastic news, but can't share it...
And then the two people who are affected most by the change congratulate you… But you’re not supposed to know anything about it, then you seem unenthused and unhappy with the announcement, even though it’s the polar opposite.
Today, I feel like I seriously let some people down and need to make it up somehow.
#ShareYourEars: @Disney is donating $5 to @MakeAWish up to $1 milllion for every person who posts a pic in their ears using that hashtag. Hope you'll join in by simply posting yourself in those ears on social media.
Rebel Wilson handed out relationship advice..
And it wasn't from her film, How to be single either. Pre-valentine's, Wilson said it's great to be independent and very easy to get away with that freedom because it's comfortable. But you have to break free and let others in. Never have I ever felt such a connection to a statement made by the actress.
Everyone I know is dying.
Of the hundreds of people I’ve met in my life, the dozens who I consider family, or are close to me, seem to be dying of disease or old age. The number one killer? Cancer.
It’s got me thinking about life again. I’m turning 23. I still live with my parents and I still have no boyfriend. How can I seize the moment when I’m always afraid of what’s next?
Advice appreciated.
I fall in love with this performance every time. Seriously want to learn how to move like this...

2016 Resolutions
Three years ago, I started a tradition. I would write out my resolutions each year to see what I could accomplish. Except last year -- I don’t think I made any promises. I was scared. I didn’t know what was in store for me. I figured if I made resolutions for 2015, I would be let down. But after an incredible 2015, I feel it’s only fit to continue the tradition. Here’s my 2016 New Year’s resolutions.
2016 Resolutions
Move out: find an affordable apartment or studio
Succeed at my career: Make every show an award-winning show (and not get fired while doing it)
Exercise daily and eat nutritious meals.
Fall in love and not be afraid to chase that love
Don’t be afraid to express my feelings or be myself.
Be more confident.
Spend less, save more and eat out less.
Take some time off to travel.
Find more people you can trust.
Don’t be afraid to do something that’s out of my comfort zone.
Below are my 2013-2014 resolutions. Everything crossed out has been accomplished in that year.
2014 Resolutions
Get another journalism internship or a job in the field
Save money (at least $100 from every pay check)
Lose weight, get healthy
Take a trip somewhere, anywhere
Find an affordable apartment or studio
Get a drink of something sweet (this is year 21)
Take care of my personal life
2013 Resolutions
E no’ono’o i nā mana’o maika’i (think happy thoughts)
be more professional
make decisions with my head and my heart - not one or the other
get a journalism internship
4.0
be real, but guarded at the same time
make healthier lifestyle choices
invest in a new phone/laptop
365 photo journal
keep up with my wordpress blog
make better friends
believe in myself.
do what i love; no holding back
save more, spend less.
Do not dwell on the past; rather, learn from the situations and don’t ever let those experiences hold you back.
Just watched a total rom-com and now I have all the feels.
I just finished watching #IfIStay for the first time ever in my life. Let’s just say that while most awkward girls don’t get the guy that they want because they’re clearly super weird, the film totally promotes the fact the girl needed a boyfriend in order to live. It wasn’t the fact that her best friend said she had a ton of family and that she misses her and wants her to stay; or her grandfather for that matter -- it was her boyfriend.
While I wildly disagree with the gender stereotypes, I got all the feels. Granted, it is a movie -- but the girl was only 17? 18? She found her “true love” and they were so stinking cute (ugh). And here I am, at 22... single as fuck; just hoping that if I tell the guy I like that I, in fact, like him -- something would spring from that. But me, being my sometimes rational self... I don’t see that happening simply because the facts aren’t there to back it up. Honestly -- the world just invented a “person reader” where you could tell everything about a person and their relationship to you, life would short-term be a bit easier.... that is, of course before it got super creepy, then turned in to some weird version of a utopia (oops! there goes my irrationality).
What’s the point? I’m losing sleep over work and my future boyfriend whoever that may be.

i’m sorry but there is no way you could have stopped me from standing on my chair and screeching like a banshee if i saw this live…
What
“ballet isn’t a sport”
The thing about this is, you can barely see their muscles straining from effort. The effort to keep each other and themselves balanced, definitely, but that guy’s hand is barely shaking. The amount of training and strength and balance to go into this is fucking insane.

My next career goal: Emmy award-winning news producer.
Accomplishing most of your life goals at 21 has its downfalls...
Today, as I was scrolling down my Facebook newsfeed, I’ve truly understood that accomplishing nearly all my life’s goals before I turned 22 has left me a shell of a person. I see everyone living their lives and having fun enjoying life, while I, as much as I would like to dispute, celebrate my successes by myself since my friends are still working on accomplishing their goals. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they aren’t successful; they are, but they have admitted they hope to still reach their greatest life goals.
Basically, I’ve realized… Having a goal and taking a few turns along the way, like maybe studying abroad or even living in another state… may have made me a much happier person than I am instead of solely committing go my accomplishments alone.
At this point in my life, while I enjoy my job and love working with my coworkers, my friends are in the process of living their dreams. And I have felt really lonely while they do that….and to be honest, I don’t know how to pull away from the loneliness.
