Ph Passport at DFA Megamall
I haven't travel outside the country. 2010 I got my passport, and renewed it 2015. Now that I'm married, and our daugther is almost 2, I decided to renew/update my married name, and get passport for our daugther. Hopefully by next year or this December we can travel outside the Philippines.
Let me share our experience in DFA Megamall.
Last week of June I tried searching for DFA appointment, luckily there's available slots for July. The next day i paid through 7/11 payment service. I checked my email I got the applications and receipt that I have to print.
Before we went to DFA I already photocopied our passport, marriage certificate, birth certificate, and other IDs (incase we need it).
10am is the earliest available schedule, we arrived before 9am. The line starts at the elevator near bus lane. Then before 10am the guard will if you have schedule, then sort the line priority/courtesy lane, & usual line. But when they started to let people in the elevator there were no system/line anymore.
DFA Megamall is at the 7th floor, there's 2 line again, they'll check again if you have schedule, but there's exceptions for some you can go there as walkin applicants (e.g senior citizen, parent with below 7 y.o, etc).
When your inside, the 1st counter is where they'll give you your number, then you'll go to 2nd counter the processing. While waiting and if you haven't photocopied your requirements you may have it photocopy, available at the back of the bench. But best if you already have a copy just to avoid lining up again.
At the processing they will check your application form, if you have incorrect information that did not match your previous passport or supporting document, don't worry they will follow the data in your supporting document.
Good thing I have a photocopy of my other ID cause they also attached it in my daugther's application (I only have 1 copy of my passport, but I have another ID). After at the processing counter, last is the data capturing or the picture taking.
For the walk in applicants your next step is the payment before the picture taking portion but since I did the online scheduling we don't need to line up for the payment.
Then you are done, you may opt to have it deliver to you, there's an available courier service before you go out the DFA. But we decided to pick it up ourselves since Megamall is near to us.
Overall it was fast, probably at the most it took us 30mins only. We were at the courtesy lane since we have an infant, we were number 6. But I think they have 4 types of applicants, courtest lane (senior, & with infants), ofw, with schedule, I don't know the 4th.
Tentative date to pickup was on less than 20days or 14 working days.
We hope you'll have a pleasant experience in getting your passport. Let's explore Earth 🥰
