So in the coming days you’re going to notice that a lot of white people (“allies”) who rightly post constantly and routinely about things like canceling student loan debt, abortion rights, LGBTQ issues, immigration reforms and other glaring social injustices, will suddenly have nothing to say about Affirmative Action being overturned. Not because they haven’t had time to form an opinion, but because they believe in “reverse racism” against white people, and deep down they agree with the ruling. Pay attention. Take mental notes. These people are not our allies. Believe people when they show you who they really are.

The LAPD unnecessarily used deadly force against an unarmed man, fired their weapons in a store with shoppers, and killed an innocent 14-year-old girl. Because they allegedly “feared” he might be armed…..

This is a tragedy, but it is not an “accident” by any stretch of the imagination. When cops recklessly and routinely shoot up non-white neighborhoods; when they treat those neighborhoods like an occupying force, the outcome is knowable, foreseeable, and completely predictable. This kind of “accident” happens in communities of color with such regularity that you have to conclude it’s planned.

I will keep on saying this: the police are the problem, not the solution.

Rest In Peace, Valentina. You were a sweet, good, innocent, child who did not deserve this. No one does. I am so sorry.
