Rest and Recovery || TARDIS and Jenny
The TARDIS shrugged one shoulder. âI suppose it was, for a time. Of course, no natural enemies does not imply a lack of unnatural enemies.â She was unsure if it would be appreciated if she explained further. She had observed that while some beings appreciated the depth and breadth of knowledge she had available to her, others wereâŠwhat was the colloquialism? Oh, yes. Touchy. She hadnât known Jenny long enough yet to ascertain which sort she was, although she hoped it was the former.
It was gratifying that her Doctorâs daughter understood exactly how she had concluded she felt about the whole situation. âThe Doctor will help make it right again,â she said with absolute confidence. That was what her Doctor did. She brought him to places that needed him, and he helped the people in those places to be better.
"I could wish that events had transpired differently," she admitted after a brief moment of consideration. "Both for the humans and for Lucifer himself." She thought that she would feel guilty that he had been locked away again for a very long time. She didnât have the luxury of letting the memory of how much he had not wanted to be trapped fade.
Jenny nodded at the TARDIS as she spoke. She watched the monkey and felt sorry for the little guy. Having no natural enemies could make them more susceptible to unnatural ones. When you never know fear, it would be hard to learn it in time. She pet the little monkey's head. "Very true..." she sighed. "Poor little ones. You can't win, can you?"
She looked to the TARDIS and smiled brightly. "Yeah, he will. That's what he does," she said proudly. "He can stop wars without guns or violence. He can fix this," she said confidently. "He can fix it..."
Jenny nodded in agreement. She hadn't like the way events had transpired either. "I agree," she whispered. "So much anger at someone he can't even talk to again," she shook her head. "No matter the reality, he's been locked away so long that the war in his mind has more meaning than what's really happened," she sighed. She knew how such things happened because it had happened on her world as well.
